Everyone talks about how fantastic riding in Quebec is (no bumps, super wide etc.). However, from what I read and what I hear the theft situation in Quebec is out of control. A lot of the hotels have gated parking areas and people’s entire setup will disappear regardless (truck, sleds and trailer). Although the same thing happens in Tug and Old Forge and hardly anyone talks about it.
i know a guy that only rides canada, rides ~200 miles a day when he goes. his sleds have never seen local trails. has like 6-7k miles on a 2012 sled already lol.
i’ve been in southern tier a few times, tug once and old forge once. old forge was the worst of those. tug was pretty good but went on a workday. been a while since ive trailrode though. maybe andy will get a new sled next year and i can ride the firekitty haha.
that sucks you guys aren’t getting a good winter… we’re getting a great one out west… playing in the powder a few weeks ago:
Anyone going out tonight? marillas open and im gonna try to put some miles on when I get outta work
I did 80 miles yesterday and 70 miles today.
Marilla to Byrncliff isn’t bad. Holland is a little worse. Strykersville is TERRIBLE, and believe me, I’m one that’s willing to ride almost anything.
^ tug is a fucking shit show! Local riding should get a lot better today with all the snow that’s falling. Enjoy it while you can, trails will close Friday.
Poor FireKitty.
Riding Tug on a weekend or holiday is just a bad idea. Riding Tug on a weekend or holiday when it’s basically the only large trail system open in NY or PA is a REALLY bad idea.
we usually do a sat- tuesday up at Tug. by sunday afternoon, the trails are mint for the rest of the trip. but we also leave at the ass crack of dawn on sat morning and ride all day and check into the hotel at like 8pm lol.
gonna ride tomorrow night around clarence ( which hopefully opens) and lockport. unless everything opens then ill head down to boston/springville and do a long ride
Wasn’t too bad yesterday really.
Launching from a buddy’s in Colden tonight after work, should be good based on what we got last night. It’s still snowing here in Buffalo
The UP is amazing. Rode 250 miles in one day and every part was scenic and tons of snow. The trails near the main towns would deteriorate around 10-11PM just because of a lot of traffic.
I did another 60 miles last night. I’m at ~310 for the season. If we get one more snowfall after this week I should easily pass my total from each of the last 2 years.
Trails should be nice tonight and tomorrow.
^ it was great out last night. Lots of snow but nothing had been groomed so it was one long series of whoops, up and down.
Holy shit it sounds like a 5 hour snowmobile parade in my backyard. People are desperate to get out there for the 3 day season this year.
I went out in the north towns the past 2 nights and managed to squeeze out 101mi for the season. It was horrible up here Wednesday and barely rideable last night. Genesee Co was the only nice riding I managed to find, NESS was grooming the minimal snow they had out in Clarence and it was just taking it down to grass so I imagine that didn’t hold up to the warmer temps yesterday, Pendleton was just straight up mud in all corners road crossings railroad tracks, large mud holes at some point in all three trail systems.
There’s always next year…
340 miles will probably close out the season for me. Not too bad for one week of riding after work.
we rode down to Kodiak jacks last night from Marvins. trails were just groomed almost all the way down. was an awesome ride. made it back probably 20 mins quicker on the way home lol
Damn, that bad? I am heading up North this afternoon
