2014 Corvette/C7

it is definitely loosing MPH on the straight no about about that. I am sure there will be a aftermarket cooling upgrade to address it for the few people that take track days seriously.

On a side note I trailered the SHO out there in 2010. That is a fun track. The track owner brought his ZR1 out. rumor had it that he had the car delivered to the track by the dealer and it has never been on the street. Hands down best noise from a car I have ever herd.

0-60mph in 3 seconds. WTF

The punchline to this joke isn’t about the straight MPH.

Mid-engine Vette?!?!? Car and Driver says they have proof.

Car and Driver on Facebook is a few months late! Well in any event at least they are finally developing a real sports car.

lol its the same article man

I know, it just popped up on my facebook today. I don’t know why they are posting old news. And no… I don’t know how the interweb works.

@misteroman
I know how much you love your limited editions

Company is building just 500 of them.

All of these track-inspired, special editions are based on the 650-horsepower, supercharged Z06 in the top 3LZ trim, and they also come equipped with the Z07 Performance Package that includes carbon-ceramic brakes, adjustable aero elements, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Offered as a coupe or convertible, these 'Vettes use some tricks to match the style of the C7.R. They’re available in the racer’s traditional bright yellow livery, but black is optional. Unpainted carbon fiber trim (including material for the hood) and grilles that are painted Spectra Gray Metallic also add to the motorsport look. The car rides on a set of black wheels with Corvette Racing logos on the center caps.

Inside, buyers of this limited edition are nestled in Competition Sport Seats that are upholstered in Jet Black leather. Suede microfiber accents with yellow stitching cover the steering wheel, gearshift, instrument panel and doors. Plus, there’s some additional carbon fiber trim for good measure. Each car also comes with a cover with C7.R graphics.

here are a few clips i mashed together from the LBGP tudor series qualifying i went to. these are all filmed around turn 8 and 9

honestly even as big of a porsche fan boy as i am i think the c7r was the best sounding vehicle followed closely by the porsche and ferrari

Looks like a good time. I look forward to the races on belle isle every year. Sounded like the ATS-V.R were swapping some paint in LB. I am interest to hear what they sound like with the V6 TT. The old CTS-V.R was the best sounding world challenge car.

Guy can’t even complete one session in his Z06:

I’m retiring it from track events until we see something from GM. It is a waste of money when you know the car will fail you every time. This is the second track day in 80*+ ambient. So far I’ve never gotten the car to work a whole 20 minutes session except at 75*.

Also, GM is using their own proprietary fuses now?

That 15 amp fuse is a fiasco. GM uses their own design for a fuse. That means the Race Shop at the track didn’t have a fuse that fits. I tried Wall Mart, 5 types of fuses, none fit. I had to go to a dealer that’s open in the middle of nowhere to find a fuse. They had the fuse listed at over $3 a piece. Imagine that you need one sometimes for every 2 minutes of hard driving. This rivals the cost of 100 octane fuel.

That’s still an ongoing situation, stick with the ZR1 or the N/A Z06
