2014 Corvette/C7

This car grows on me daily. It’s the first Vette I’ve really liked since the midyear cars.

Awesome power! Too bad the torque management limits you to 150hp and the ecu is locked down.

A LT1 that doesn’t suck what a concept

I’m curious to see if anyone cracked the PCM yet there was a great debate about tuning this on LS1tech.

A bunch of engineers not understanding defeating security controls.

The problem comes into play when it ends up taking handhelds 1-2 years to come out. People want to put on exhausts, swap gears, up rev limits, removed speed limiters, etc. This is why the 2013 Vipers aren’t selling. LoL

Dodge is working on an aftermarket ECU for the 2013 Viper but its still not out …

what would you rather…

a slightly used c7…or a '08-'10 used z06?

Z06 isn’t for everyone…rides like shit if the roads aren’t perfect, traditional M6 only, and it’s a lot easier to get yourself into trouble in. Oh, and you have to keep the roof on. All depends on your priorities

For 50k I’d buy a twin turbo 96-99 viper with 900+whp or a 2013 cobra with a pully, tune and 700+whp, or a heads cam C6 Zo6 with 600whp, or … LoL but I’m not an old man with lots of money, which is their demographic I believe.

HPtuners posted this morning they can tune it now lol

Awesome!

I dunno… this just looks BAD (the rear end) IMO. Maybe I’ll like it better in person :gotme:

I believe they already have an aftermarket rear bumper option for this car. Not produced by chevy from what I hear. I’ll see if I can find it. I think the bumper was the dumbest idea they had for this car. Like they created the whole body then just ran out of time and had to come up with something quick to put into production so they didn’t miss the years deadline for production.

They released some performance specs 12.0 @ 119 1/4

DETROIT – Chevrolet released official performance estimates today for the 2014 Corvette Stingray, the most capable standard Corvette ever. Equipped with the available Z51 Performance Package, the new Stingray is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, braking from 60 to 0 in 107 feet, and sustaining 1.03 g in cornering.

Cumulatively, the acceleration, cornering and braking capability of the Corvette Stingray enable it to lap the Virginia International Raceway’s (VIR) 4.2-mile “Grand Course” in 2:51.78.

“For the new Stingray, we set out to elevate every aspect of the Corvette’s performance,” said Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer. “Considered alone, the acceleration, braking and cornering performance of the Corvette Stingray is truly impressive. More significant is how well they work together, resulting in a lap time at VIR that places the new Stingray in the upper echelon of all sports cars.”

2014 Corvette Stingray Z51

Acceleration from 0-60 MPH: 3.8 seconds
¼ mile acceleration: 12 seconds @ 119 mph
Braking distance from 60 to 0 MPH: 107 feet
Maximum lateral acceleration: 1.03 G
VIR ‘Grand Course’ Lap: 2:51.78

The lap around VIR was conducted in Stingray equipped with the available Z51 Performance Package and Magnetic Ride Control. The vehicle that conducted the lap was modified only with safety features like a racing seat and harness, and fire extinguisher system.

“The new Stingray constantly communicates feedback to the driver, which makes you feel incredibly confident behind the wheel,” said Jim Mero, Corvette vehicle dynamics engineer. “That confidence encourages you to attack each corner because the Stingray drives so well: the tire grip is incredible; the steering response is some of the best I’ve ever experienced; the Magnetic Ride dampers allow little body roll through the corner, while still soaking up the rumble strips when you clip the apex,” he said. “It’s just addictive on the track.”

The 2014 Corvette Stingray coupe goes on sale in the third quarter of 2013 for a suggested starting retail price of $51,995, excluding tax, title, and license fees. The $2,800 Z51 Performance Package includes an electronic limited-slip differential; dry-sump oiling system; integral brake, differential and transmission cooling; as well as a unique aero package that further improves high-speed stability. Magnetic Ride Control with Performance Traction Management is a $1,795 option. A Corvette Stingray equipped like the test car used at VIR would cost $56,590.

meh still wouldnt buy one

That’s how I feel as well. I wish they weren’t lazy about the interior and actually realized that this car is much different than the rest of their car lineup. Take the time and make the interior different. Show some care when making it and stop using what you find in every other Chevy.

This is bad?

but this is amazing??

When I glanced at that pic, the first thing I thought of is that it looked like it should be 2014 Firebird rear end.

I was just thinking the same

It hurts the eyes

What’s really funny is the materials in the 2014 Vette’s dash look to be of better quality than the 2001 Honda’s.

“NOW WHAT WILL WE BITCH ABOUT?!”

My apologies, it has got much better. It’s been a little since I relooked at the new vette.

This is what I remembered. And this has nothing special about it.

Also, my interior is setup for a driver, nothing to deal with a passenger, the way a sports car should be setup. Also my car is from the year 2000.

Edit: Not to mention $54k vs $30k. It better have more bells and whistles. lol

Also btw troll… I never said anything about how mine looked to the car, I said it looks the same as every other chevy.

I’m curious what you’re comparing it to then?

Every car manufacture runs similar interiors between all their models its part of branding.

and lol

It’s great you know what you’re bitching about

Everyone knows GM interior quality was shitty in the 1990s…C5 Vettes came out in 1997 for reference.
