I just had that conversation with my buddy last night as we were driving his stage 2 S4. we both said why even bother trying to make them faster anymore it is cheaper to buy a new car.
You can still up a stg3 400whp s4 for under 10k, thats a hard value to beat with all the amenities
peak numbers are not everything… a 3.0T is a much nicer car to drive under normal conditions.
or buy a S55 and start with 500 for a few grand more and have a car that is worth what you paid where every penny into a B5 S4 is lost. Maybe I am getting too old to mod cars. I really have my heart set on a RS4 for a toy and a S65 to go fast
meh auto and twice the price, and i cant imagine what it would cost to maintain a car with $100k+ msrp, although beautiful not my cup of tea, now an sl55/sl65
Does anyone know if there is a place closer than Rochester I can get the APR tuning done? VW of OP doesn’t do it anymore.
#Beck may be doing some sort of tuning at Basil VW, I dont know off hand what company though. When did OP pull out?
I know they were out of it around the first of the year when I applied to be a dealer. They said they are restructuring in the NE and are not currently adding new dealers at this time.
I just picked a 6sp 2010 GTI and can’t believe how much I love it for being fwd. I love the power a stage 2 golf r can make but for that money I could put a ko4 on mine and still be in it a lot less money. The new GTI looks awesome, I can’t wait to check one out in person. Would love to drive a tuned one.
I already ordered a bunch of parts for mine and can’t wait to get it tuned. I went to VW of OP the day I got it and learned that Steve had left.
