MX-5 Miata: The fourth generation of the venerable MX-5 Miata debuts at a media event next month before going on sale next summer for the 2016 model year. The redesigned MX-5 is expected to be close to the original Miata in terms of dimensions and the roadster’s roughly 2,100-pound curb weight. Under the hood will be a Skyactiv 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
Roughly a year after the soft-top goes on sale, Mazda will release a hardtop MX-5 that will have a unique, fastback-style silhouette, Automotive News has been told.

i’ve only driven one miata and it felt good. the sky activ shizz is rad too. many likes to mazda… but i still wont buy one 
if they made this in a hard top roadster like the F-type that runs low 13’s it would be game over for the 370z, FRS, BRZ, and a wack of other stuff that sucks

This is why my Miata doesn’t have a passenger seat.
Easiest way to fix the whole, “it doesn’t have enough power”.
Press the gas pedal harder.
Wife and I bought a clean '90 from her friend for cheap. The black one (95) was being dismantled and returned to as stock as possible. Was gonna be too much money and a pain in the ass. Some guy in NF had a '88 VW cabriolet that he was willing to straight trade. So that’s what we did.
This new Miata looks awesome. Huge upgrades all over except power numbers. Interior looks incredible too.
They need to make this a mazdaspeed.
I really hope they do. Turbo, hard top/fastback/coupe. Something cool.
