20k ish budget. Need a year round DD.

I’m with walker on this one, however I have only owned e46s and a G35. I would take the BMW any day over the G35, for some reason I just never felt as connected in the G35 as I do in almost any BMW I drive, hard to explain.

only experience i can go back to is my 06 G35 with springs / struts, camber arms and tires… is was a much better drive than a ‘new at the time’ 2012 335i… the 335i was much faster of course.

running costs i dont think you can compare the two. Infiniti has all Nissan running gear is pretty simple and inexpensive to work on. The VQ is no less a work-horse than any BMW engine… and being NA it is of course more reliable overall.

but again, i dont think either car is being considered in this thread.

I am talking about NA BMWs here.

What about a G8 GT? I can deal with auto. Especially if someone can tune sport mode to have some snappy shifts. Plenty of towing power. Enough to tow a larger trailer to not need as much trunk space

For how involved you are in Motorsport related things, pretty surprised you would want a car.

for 20kish you can get 2010-2011 G37x I love mine

They make a vehicle for what he wants. There’s a pretty well carved out space for what he’s looking for… I think it just depends on what he personally wants now…

Some of these suggestions are funny.

 no way I could drive that in the winter. I don’t need a truck enough to justify the horrible gas mileage and pressure of people trying to make me lift it, ect. Everyone of my friends has a lifted truck and big mud tires, non of them ever see more than lawn driving. $1500 in tires to wear off on pavment because it looks cool?
No.

This G8 GT has been for sale for a bit on CL, around the price you are talking about, bit over.

Get a Jeep Grand Cherokee…towing capable…room in the back…capable of getting frisky if you have the hemi in it and comfortable to drive if you get the limited with all the options.

If I was going to get a jeep it would be this.

Ok, so why does this thread exist? Go buy that thing

FWIW its no big deal driving a rwd truck in the winter…most rwd trucks now are averaging 20+ mpg too.
my 20" 65k mile cooper tires were $410 shipped to my door. no need for mud tires and a lift when driving a truck.

I drove a 2wd S10 with no weight in the bed on shit all seasons 55 miles round trip to work. Even with how bad this winter was, I didn’t struggle with the drive at all. A full size 2wd would cope with it even better so I honestly feel like if I were to buy a full size truck, I’d have no reservations getting 2wd.

I drove a full size 2wd truck all winter. It was a blast. No problems. In fact, I left the CC at home every day. I live in Elma near ski country, so it gets pretty bad.

x…

I ment the lighting. Way to nice to drive in the winter. I’ve had plenty of rwd stuff in the winter. Trucks just aren’t my thing.

This guy won’t budget on price. Offered him 21k nada clean retail is 22k.
