Yay or nay? Or should I stick to 225? I’m going to be needing new summer tires in 2 months or so.
The recommended wheel width on tirerack for 235 tires is 8" but I’m wondering if I can get away with it with no issues.
yeah you’ll be fine, make sure the overall diameter of the tire is close to stock by using a tire calculator to keep the speedo in check.
and just to add some fact there, the stock 1995 M3 wheels are 17x7.5 and come with 235/40s.

Yeah I use the miata speedometer site. I’m gonna need 235/40 (.4% slow). I’m currently on 225/45 (2.6% slow).
235s will have no problem. I’ve had 235/45/17s on my stock wheels(17x7.5)
tire rack did call me to remind me that it will not fit on my wheels but I had no problems with it
