240 Guys step in.

I got an e-mail of a kid wanting to trade me his 240sx for my conquest.
I don’t know much about these cars at all.
Whats this thing worth? Common problems?

I guess there is a bumper and headlamp support missing…

mish-mash budget build… i would seriously question the reliability and longevity of the turbo / motorset… these things rarely last a long time and have little or no value.

he’s got a couple reasonable pieces on there but ebay arms, felpro gasket, II ECU… eeehh…

14" wheels? really?

I think you’re looking at a car worth $3000 - $3800 max if you plan to build it from where it is right now…

You can save yourself the hassle and just go buy a better example than that for $7k - $9k

you can get immaculate ones for $12k - $14k

Bing pretty much summed it up.

fuck nice houses on that street, I might trade depending on what your car is, but that car looks pretty thrown together, not to mention the 20 year old motor this guy slapped a turbo on

cons: body-work is rough, SOHC motor, already 20k on a turbo’d motor, some rust, you never know what’s hiding under a fresh coat of paint

pros: there are some parts on the car that are worth the money(gt30, tein coils), silvia front end(even though it’s sort of beat up), probably fast

Sumed it up, crap to me

Sell your conquest and buy one of Bing’s 240’s.

easier said than done…

Meh its the middle of winter, If it don’t sell I have plans for it.

hahaha its a turbo singler. thats funny.
would be a good trade if ur conquest isnt worth much, prolly be a fun lil beater till it blows up. then ur guna havta spend more money for a engine.

soch’s can be had cheap. and it wouldnt be that much more to go dohc.

I think its a good deal. you should try to get cash + his car for yours to fix the core support and buy a bumper or whatever. like $500 or something. plus get him to deliver.

yeah but single cams suck.
and for sum reason people around this area over charge for twin cams.
plus if he goes twin cam he is guna need more than just the engine, like the dohc power steering stuff, harness, ecu, maf

Ewww a turbo single cam ??? Very lame.

if this was a 93+, it would be such a different story, IMO

uhhhhh there werent any changes in 93

dohc? what year was that?

edit: wikipedia says 91, my bad

91 is start of the twin cam

i have seen a few dohc’s for 500, my buddy will have one that needs a hg (oil in coolant) in a month or two. ecu and maf will be the same bc it has a tune. p/s stuff can be had for cheap. I may even have it from my 240. I forget what I kept or threw out.

and just bc its single cam doesnt mean it cant make power…

dohc ka are a cheap and readily avalaible. i had to let a whole motor set go for like really cheap, less than 500.
