245/45/17 on 7" wide wheel

A Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in a 245/45/17 is the exact same in terms of section width as a Kumho Ecsta MX 235/45/17…

it will be tight but it will fit the rim but like everyone said it will be tight.

do it!

i would reccomend the 17X7.5’s on the SHO even the 8" look nice with the right tire, what is the price difference between the 7 and 7.5?

Same price…I just like the style of the 7" wide one better. Obviouly an 8" is my first choice but I can’t find anything that a) looks good, b) is in the $100/wheel price range, and c) fits the SHO bolt pattern. I’m basically looking for a set of wheels that look nice but don’t cost much…because after all it is a Taurus we’re talking about here:)

well if you need them mounted up shoot me a pm and i’ll hook it up since you gave me that engine mount whch i already tore (damn tweecer making it shift sweet) it could almost chirp second for a while there

:bump: this back up. I am also wondering this. Old set of rims where 17x8 and I ran 245/45/17 Yokohama’s. I picked up a set of 17x7’s and didnt even think baout 245’s being to wide till after I bought them. So what is a good safe tire that is sticky and will fit 7" wide rim? Or maybe I should sell the new wheels and get different ones.
