29% think armed revolution might soon be necessary

I think this sums up my thoughts on leaving…

LOL, you do realize you’re on the complete opposite end of the argument being nearly extreme in the opposite way you are accusing me of…right? You’re only looking at one statistic yourself!

you’re correct that the number of deaths by guns here is a higher number than other parts of the world…but what you’re failing to account for is the NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT LIVE HERE vs. those other parts of the world you mention…gun deaths vs. number of people living in the country is a far more accurate depiction of how much of a “problem” we have here. Even still, you are more likely to be killed with a hammer than a GUN. If guns were not available, then it would be some other “weapon” that would magically be the new statistic that more people are killed by here than any other country in the world…can you see that? For the record, I was never a gun fanatic…I don’t even own any guns, and the only guns I’ve shot were my uncles .22 hunting rifle and 50cal black powder muzzle-loader for fun at a target range ONCE. I’m not some “gun nut” as you call it…I just truly beleive that if bad guys are going to have guns, then good guys should be legally allowed to have the same (if not better) guns than the bad guys (who get theirs illegally anyways). I can promise you that making any type of gun ILLEGAL will NOT for one second cut down on the number of gun deaths here. That should be common sense.

I think it’s further nieve to think the government really cares about your safety as much as they claim…they are simply focusing on guns and gay marriage to AVOID doing their job to balance the budget. They’re playing with smoke and mirrors right now trying to skirt around the real issues that put our society in jeopardy. Financially, We’re FUCKED.

Edit: I can’t even fucking believe I’m participating in a gun debate. LOL. people who know me personally wouldn’t even beleive this.

British Doctors Call for Ban on Long Kitchen Knives to End Stabbings

The UK outlawed the switchblade and gravity knife in 1959.

In 1988 possession of a pocket knife with a blade larger than 3 inches in public became illegal.

In 1996, it became illegal to sell a razor blade to anyone under the age of 16.

In 2007, you needed a license to be able to sell “non-domestic knives.”

It’s shitty people no weapons

I mean a couple of idiot college kids built a bomb with a pressure cooker, nails, and fireworks.

The fact that you acknowledged bad guys have guns thus proves my point, thank you. From there you ignored everything else I said and just heard what you wanted to hear (and how could I blame you, my verbiage definitely is borderline trolling).

I like how MOBOOST keeps editing his posts after I’ve read them and responded. Pretty sure I didn’t ignore anything pre-edit. You also keep saying bad guys have guns…as if bad guys bought the guns through legal means/processes LOL. but this is derailing the thread quickly…the discussion is supposed to be whether or not a revolution is a real possibility.

I think so, for sure.

MOBOOST, You are hitting a new low here.

Nick, stop taking the bait, you have better things to do.

it’s hard lol. let’s be serious, I work for a town…LOL. I’ve become rather passionate about politics in the last year or so. I just really feel as a nation we are failing HARD.

He probably doesn’t want to agree with me because it’s what the majority does, LOL. My feelings are too mainstream for him

ok, I’ll bite…

The real problem in this country at the core has nothing to do with guns or violence, those are symptoms of the core issues.

The core issue being the government is no longer by the people for the people. It’s by corporations and for corporations. Corporations best interests are to have an UNEDUCATED pool of people to work for them as cheaply as possible and to manipulate the population to suit the corporations interests. Thus the transition of the media from an unbiased information provider to a true propaganda machine. The change and dumbing down of education. The loosening of corporate laws, and the creation of larger and larger loopholes. The more the media can get the country to infight among themselves, the less risk to the corporations who are the puppet masters of the government… what’s more of a threat to their power, a unified population, or one where neighbors stand against each other because they believe in a different imaginary friend in the sky?

Bottom line is this… the government in this country over the last 50 years has slipped down a very very slippery slope, and is no longer serving the needs of it’s people. It’s turned into a machine that serves itself and the needs of a select few. The changes in the laws since the ending of WWII in regards to business, and especially once Greenspan started his career back in the 70s, the floodgates opened for business to take over everything and corrupt the government.

Can things get better and go back to what government should be… I sure hope so, but I honestly think in our lifetime were going to see things get a lot worse. Between the socialistic changes due to the generational issues that are going on, the issues with the educational system, the propaganda media machine, and the MASSIVE depth to which the government is a puppet to the .001% of the population…

THANK YOU.

^ The power of lobbying groups, reelection rates for incumbents and general feeling that the “average joe” has little influence in his government that that was supposed to be for the people and of the people is definitely another reason why I’m in that group that thinks a violent revolution is a possibility.

Ill gladly step away and let you guys talk about what I know you want to talk about but if you want to continue to make it personal ill only uphold my opinion further… please elaborate on what I said that was off base aside from hurting what I could only assume is your stance?

Ill admit to trolling a little, but what did I say that was so asmusingly incorrect? Whats amusing is that its moboost offering another outsider perspective and because its not what the gang wants to see, they stone the whipping boy. Thats fine, it hasnt stopped me before but I wish just one person had the courage to look from the other point of view for once.

Fuck I even prefaced everything I said that im FOR GUNS and that ID BE FOR A REVOLUTION. Just as JayS said, this bipartisan divide is only going to grow further and you guys are showing why. You cant even for a second admit, let alone recognize a simple argument in the opposing view without getting all worked up over it.

Thus me asking about an exit strategy! If things go south to the point of a full on civil war/civil breakdown, I’m GTFO… I’m sorry, my family is more important to me, we have friends and family all over the world…

This seems to be the fatal flaw with socialistic government, once you get enough people reliant on a growing governments magic tit you’re doomed. Their magic tit comes at the expense of the private sector’s ability to hire & re-invest and crushes any hope for responsible capitalistic growth. The capitalists turn to cronyism, they bribe their way into government and/or move their money to tax safe havens both of which cripple the domestic economy. The government has dependents now, they cannot afford to cut spending if they want to be re-elected and they must be re-elected to keep receiving bribes. So in lieu of tax revenue and unwilling to refuse “campaign contributions” (aka bribes) they turn to the printing press & inflation to refill their magic milk bags. When it comes to inflation what most seem to ignore is despite the DOW hitting 15k (as it did today) the money those points represent has lost spending power. While the magic tit may be producing the same amount of milk, the milk has less nutritional value. This is why people are starving, fighting and going nuts.

MOBOOST…we have an economic problem at the core. Sprinkling a little liberal on the symptom will not resolve our core issue. Fix the cause, not the symptom.

Damnit, I got caught up in work here and you beat me to finalizing my symptom post! Glad we’re no longer alone in our cuntry.

can you please re-phrase this argument then? I must be missing your point. I do agree that this bipartisan divide is going to continue to grow further, but I also beleive that is partly due to the blatent refusal to acknowledge a third party (libertarian)…it seems they want everyone to pick an extreme instead of allowing a happy medium.

Lol well said. This is why im trying to get out of this thread lol, I never offered a solition, just a reason why we cant come to a solution.

I mean I could let you guys shoot the J but I rather put a hand in your face to keep it interesting

SO WELL SAID.

hey everyone…stop with the ninja edits! by the time I’ve clicked quote the text has changed! lol

---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 AM ----------

we’re living in something similar to a bull riding ring…we are the bull, the governement is the idiot cowboy trying to control us…and the clowns are the issues the cowboy uses to distract us when he can’t control us…right now society is an angry bull that’s bucked off the cowboy and are looking to charge at him for pissing us off, but we’re being dstracted by these clowns known as “gun legislation” “gay marriage” “universal healthcare” and “abortion”…when really the governement is who we’re after, while he runs away to safety, and we’re saddled up with a new cowboy (new president)

Fucking right on.

Every response in this thread, minus Mooboostingasdfnasdjasd has been fucking spot on.

Things that need to end:

Lobby groups.

Mass media.

Corporate endorsements.

Special interest groups.

Career politicians.

Federal Banking.

Under/uneducated leaders/role models/generations.

I could go on and on.

Even seeing the difference in life attitude and work ethic between people MY AGE and people 3-4yrs younger than me is SCARY. Wha Happun?

Jesus titty fucking christ.

Best analogy I’ve heard of.

I love that analogy. When people attempt to decouple the public sector from the private sector and say to hell with HOW things get funded problems shall arise. Liberals are short sighted when it comes to fiscal maters sadly. I say sadly because I tend to be socially liberal, I just know there is no such thing as a free lunch. LOL

Another job well done! I am gaining some confidence in 'Merica, we aren’t 100% fucked just yet it seems. Let’s keep fighting those who are unable to think long term or unwilling for themselves.
