I just picked up some 3M 39002 fine cute rubbing compound. I just did the roof and hood on the WS.6 followed by NXT and I think it turned out pretty nice. Reduced the appearance of fine swirl marks pretty good. Cant wait till the entire car is done it will look so pimp. Anyone else ever use this 3M 39002?
no
yup, we use it everyday at my body shops… along with the regular, and extra cut. Im not sure on part numbers but I know the best of the best is 3M Perfect It III… remember rubbing compound cuts down on your clear coat… so use it sparingly, I know you got the lightest texture but if you use it all the time its not good… take care
edit… if you really really want the marks out you need to get a professional to lightly and I mean lightly wet sand the vehicle and professionaly get it buffed out… we can do it for you at our shop as our painter is unbelieveably awsome… we paint & buff all of the vehicles for Fox’s new Classic Car build segment on Fox this fall… you proably never heard of it yet because they are still filming it in Latrobe. Good luck!
Does the Perfect It III take out swirls too? I need to get a light compound to do the TA. I got pretty good at buffing when I worked detailing at the Olds dealer, but I’d still feel safer with a real light compound, especially with a cicular buffer instead of those random orbital ones.
more driving less polishing
