I’ll look into those. I’m going to see about getting one size bigger, 225’s are a bit too skiny

Yeah man, I think I told you how Mike with the SRT4 ruined two front sets of Goodyear Eagle F1’s previously at Dunnville.
When I looked at your Audi I thought the tires were streched. If you have 8 inch wide wheels you can fit a 245 width tire on them, the question is whether or not they would rub. Seem’s that Falken makes a 225/45-17 and a 245/45-17 RT-615 Azenis.
btw I’ll prob be paying pretty soon…

SRT-4s are a bad comparison, that car is not really suited for track days (in semi stock form) I’m sure the A4 handles better by far.
Besides, Krant should bring his GTO to track days. :poke: You won’t do it… :gay3:

I wasn’t comparing the cars, I was talking about destroying tires that don’t seem to be able to take the sidewall abuse. Like the Cooper’s he had on the audi at dunnville and the goodyears I mentioned before etc…
btw I sent my payment
Mike’s SRT though was only possible to be fast if it was spinning the tires. When I drove it two track days ago I found the only way I could be fast was with a ton of understeer letting the car pull me out as I rolled into the gas. It was the anti-dorifto and I can only imagine it was chunking parts of the tread block.
Shockwave, yeah, I did not buy the wheels/tires new, I bought them off a friend and when it needed new tires, I just got the same size not thinking of track events in the future. I think 245’s would rub if I was really pushing it in the turns, I guess there is only one way to see
Yeah, the GTO at Dunnville would be a waste of time. The car in stock form was under braked/suspended at The Glen, I can only imagine how bad I’d bake the brakes at Dunnville.
The 14th looks pretty well locked at this point, so I sent payment.

So now whats the addy for sending payment? It must be that I am new or just blind and didn’t see it. As soon at someone posts it and I see it I will send the payment.

The Eagle F1’s were absolutely destroyed, even after just 1 session. The azenis this past time, even though I was only out for 20 min, seemed to hold up real well. Also evident in auto-x, the azenis don’t show any sidewall wear at 38 psi, while the f1’s were getting killed even at 48 psi. 235/40/17 is what I’m running now, those might be a good option for an A4, and the smaller diameter will help the gearing in a car with less power. Otherwise the new Bridgestone RE01R’s are supposed to be good, and Dunlop just came out with a new extreme performance street tire that looks promising.
