GET OFF THE FUCKING INTERNET!

I really don’t see why a road should strike fear in a rider. It’s just another strip of asphalt, nothing more. I would feel safer on a twisty road with a group of bikers rather than on a normal road with cars and trucks. I never felt safe with other cars on the road when I rode bikes.

Your never going to learn to ride if your just going around empty parking lots.

Umm the weather is just starting to break, we only had two times that it was warm enough and I was off work to take her out on the road between January 31st and March 31st. She started the parking lot stuff in february since she had NEVER ridden any kind of motorized bike before.

She has had to learn from the ground up. There is nothing wrong with wanting to stay on local back roads while learning.

Redneck, The group thing is nice but not when you are just learning. I found my very first group ride I was very nervous because I didn’t want to do somthing and fuck somone esle’s bike up or get them hurt.

Now that have have 5000 miles under my belt I doesn’t phase me any.

Right now Jenn ride’s in front of me so I can watch her and when we stop we talk about things hse did good or improve. (With my new mirrors being tucked its too hard to try and watch her, thats why she is infront.)

this trip will be fine for the noobs, with me up front ill control the pace for the rest of the pack. since this will be first trip this year ill be tame. and like mike stated being its fresh into the seaon we need to watch out for debris on the road

Jenn: if youre afraid of a road like that then stay in PA. im not trying to be a dick but with this sport bends and roads like that or even greater is the fun part of it. but at your level you should stick to riding around your local area. get a few thousand miles under your belt then come out with us. this way your comfortable on the bike and surrondings

I just drove it from Bridgeville to Wheeling. Cliffs notes:

There’s some rough pavement on PA50 at Indian Lake golf course right before coming down off the hill to PA 844.

At the border of WV and PA, when you make the left on to WV88S, there’s two potholes on the right hand side within a 1/2 mile of entering WV88S.

The edges of the road still have slag/cinders/whateverthehellthey put on the road in winter.

WV88S, for the first two miles, has a lot of shit (literally, horse shit) on the road. Dead center of the south bound lane.

The turn going into West Liberty is a little rough.

The turn coming out of West Liberty is a little rough.

The speed limit/slow down to this speed signs all seem to be intact.

The intersection of US40E and WV88S is under construction at Wheeling.

And…it is narrow as hell in some places, and there’s no shoulder on most of this trip.

holey shit, now on a rating factor 1 being worst and 10 being ideal what you think it is Jackup?

I’d say a 5. It’s no tail of the dragon, but it’s not a straight highway either.

Some of the turns are more than adequate to get the blood pumping.

The blind hill/turns are well marked, so there’s only a “little surprise” factor.

o i know the road but im saying as in debris. like i said a refresher course or learner course for some. i would hate to plan a little group ride and it be crappy.

more later on in hte season i plan on to extend it, redline could vouche for the rest of the route. its deff worth it but long and tiring. its about a total of 300 to 400 miles from bridgeville round trip. i forget the total amount

I’d say if it rains once or twice, like a medium-type washing rain and not a hill-slide torrential downpouring, it will be fine by the 23rd.

cool, also i wonder whos familar with ohio pyle. i want to hit that up this year. so if someone wants to get a GPS and start planing routes

thats ez

always good ride to ohiopyle.

ohio pyle rides are fun

use to ride then all the time on my 600

ride up go swimmming jump off the bridge

ride home

or the best is ride up and camp out but everones gotta pull there weight and back pack items

tom tom baby

I wouldn’t say it’s that I’m afraid, just that I don’t really know what MY limits are on my bike yet. You riding my bike could take a turn at 45mph, while I would take it at 20mph because I’m not as comfortable riding yet. I think the class helped a lot, but I still need some time. (especially since I haven’t been out on my bike since the class). Mike said Tuesday we’ll go out if it’s nice and his bike is back together. I can’t wait to wear my new gear.

Let me get my bike past the break-in period… then we’ll see.

cool!!! best of luck

I will hopefully have my new schedule today while I’m at work. If I’m off weekends, I’m hoping to get a ride together with Jr and his Wife since she also just got her licence the same weekend as Jenn. Thinking about a Sunday late morning ride up to the Foxburg Inn. That was the first long ride I did with a group, and the roads were pretty tame.

Plus their food is awesome. Its funny seeing such a nice place that is biker friendly.

Holy overanalysis. WV88 is fine, some bumpy sections, some not great, but mostly good fun twisties that freaking Goldwings and Harleys do. You’re not riding 100% like a track, it’s street, so stfu and ride it.
