4.2L Audi Owners....

if I could actually hit 18/19 for the 3 tank avg. I’d be happy.

either way it really isn’t that big of a deal.

Ugh mine was at 13.4mpg when I was in the car earlier.

yea, its been far lower… then i cry on the inside for the dinosaurs and coast

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

How is reliability on these? Put up a link to a forum. Bitch

from what I found, standard crap… buy CPO’d and don’t worry about it until 100k.

Fine I will find my own link to S4 forums. dick

CPO’d is hard for me as I always mod cars. I woldnt want to lie to myself and pretend I wont.

there are others but those are the two I frquent.

I too mod, although am less fond of it these days but don’t mind taking the brunt of the responsibility when it is due to something I did…

I will be awfully careful with this ridiculously expensive engine however. before it gets any boost the kits will need to have some serious miles on them.

Yea I am proud of how well i am fighting the mod bug right now. Only big slip up has been wheels.

well, 4.2L audis aren’t moddable so that helps… :picard:

Oh, your fuel mileage goes up when 2 coil packs stop working!

thats changing…

that vf-engineering kit has been driven cross country and back and they have also had a beta kit thats driven daily by a member on audizine. i think its pretty awesome that stuff is starting to come out granted it only took 5 years lol. jhm is developing long tube headers and there are plenty of places you can get downpipes/catback exhaust from. although cams are a complete waste of time from what i gather.

i think my next mods will be the 4:1 torsen diff and maybe some vast downpipes.

I’ve been following both the VF and PES kit developments for quite some time

eh i would stray from pes from all the horror stories i have heard with thier 3.0 v-6 s/c

I don’t know who pissed in the cheerios over at AZ but it is possible the hate there is even worse than the VW hate here.

I had a PES SC’d 2.8 with over 150k miles on it. I’ve installed more 2.8 and 3.0 SCs than anyone on that site has ever seen.

I’m not afraid of PES in the slightest.

it wasn’t PES, it was the 3.0 it was bolted to… there is a reason they 'canned that one.

touche

We are up to 3 months of data and it seems to be leveling out. Right around the 18-19 range (I find the 3 take avg to be much more meaningful) with a majority highway. I still find myself pushing the “gas dump” pedal that Audi included with the car quite a bit. I’m sure on a true hwy trip I could get in the low 20s, however I’d just take something else most likely…

So how much do you <3 the S4?

Apparently not as much as he loves excel logging gas mileage. <3
