What kind of mileage are you guys seeing on the HWY?
I’ve driven an A6 4.2 auto highway… low low 20s at best… car had evil torque off the line…
highway i can see 22-24 when i cruise at like 60-65
HWY is about 22-24
All around average is 17-18

that’s not as bad as I expected, the 13/20 rating scared me away from an S4.
it really is pretty bad… compared to BMW V8 cars it’s decently worse. I got about 30mpg with a 540 6 spd on a longish highway trip. must be the AWD.
yeah its most likely the awd and the fact that the gearbox is such a close ratio.

540 isn’t exactly apples to apples. What does an M5 get? And yes, the AWD is going to suck up a few of those.

If I’m a HUGE BITCH on the highway - doing like 60-65, i can get around 24.
I do like, 85 on the highway regularly to work, and mixed local driving - I get around 250 miles to 13 gallons of premium.
Its an AWD V8 4000lb luxo car

I expected it to be worse than what is being reported.

the other thing that you have to watch out for when you drive these barges like the stig is that you will go through suspension bushings etc like crazy with all that weight.
I’ve had no issue with bushings in the 2 1/2 yrs. that I’ve owned mine.
a lot of times you think nothing it wrong, but if you replaced them the car would be twice as sharp… people don’t tend to notice them until traumatic failure. or maybe you’re not beating on the car hard enough? 
Well, after a month of probably 70/30 Hwy/City here are the results. Trip computer reports an avg for the same time period of 18.2 mpg
seems about right
