This is gonan sound stupid…but what is the best way to compress 4 piston calipers…specifically Nissan 300zx TT Calipers…i know if you try to do one side at a time is just forces the other side out…so I need to knwo the best way to do it…
Try using a “c” clamp with the pad in place and squeeze in the middle ? Well 2 “c” clamps, one each side at the same time.
i was either thinking that or big channel locks…ill mess with it when i get home…the thing witht eh c-clamps is i dunno of the opening is big enough…they are pretty meaty calipers
use the old brake pads and a c clamp
Go with 2 large pair of channel locks. It’ll work.
on the sti i just wedged a screwdriver in between old pads.
You should be able to do it by hand, or with a little leverage from a screwdriver. They shouldn’t be hard to move, even with fluid in them and hooked into the system. They might be seized otherwise.
usually do the same with my z(all of them have 4 pot calipers)
