I have all mastercraft tools for my car. Bought them all 50% off or more. Boxing week/Christmas is the best time as they throw in freebies. Got a full maximum wrench set for 75% off and it came with a full stubby wrench set. Think I payed 40 bucks or something.
you just contradicted your self
No, not really.
My 1/2" ratchet has skipped ever since I put a chunk of pipe on it and jumped on it to break a siezed wheel-nut free. When I was working in my gravel driveway. Abusing the tool. Using it improperly… but if you’ll notice the rest of the sentence, I rarely use it now, because I either use my 3/8" ratchet, or my impact/breaker bar. I could count on 1 hand the number of times I’ve needed my 1/2" ratchet in real world scenarios. Breaker bars are cheap. There’s no excuse for my breaking my 1/2" ratchet other than inexperience, but I actually reinforce my point with that admission.
Further, splitting sockets is not uncommon so I don’t really count that as an “issue” it’s just the price you pay, and the reason you buy quality tools with a lifetime guarantee. You’ll also notice in your selective quoting of me you omitted the part where I said I’ve seen just as many split sockets that came from Mac or Snap-On.
What brand do you recommend then, since Snap-On and Mac are on par with Mastercraft when it comes to sockets and wrenches?
crappy tire warranty is un-beatable. bend wrenches in half to get into tight places then return them for a brand new one. cant beat that!
