Google says 288 I agree with google.
BEDMAS
So I’m going with 288.
Brackets
Exponents
Division
Multiplication
Addition
Subtraction
In the truest math world it’s 288.
the way its written out now, 288.
I can do this math, order of operations.
Parenthesis, so 9+3 = 12
You now have
48/2(12)
Multiplication follows suit, so 12 x 2 = 24
Division is your final step…
48/24 = vagina.
288
48 ÷ 2 * (9+3)=
48 ÷ 2 * (12)=
48 ÷ 2 * 12=
24 * 12=
288
interesting though:
What it comes down to is that this question is written out in poor form and it’s difficult to figure out what the author meant as far as order goes. Human error causes it to be misinterpreted.
BEDMAS
That’s the first I’ve ever heard of BEMDAS. I’ve always heard it as PEMDAS (Parentheses in stead of Brackets).
Anyways, 288. Why is this even a discussion?
edit- apparently this needs to be clarified
PEMDAS or BEMDAS, whatever you like, you do Multiplication and Division left to right before doing Addition and Subtraction (which is again, left to right).
I learned it as bedmas
I was always told PEMDAS, not BEDMAS. Fuck, I was screwed from the start.
LOL it won’t make a difference. It’s just that you’re thinking you need to multiply 2 x 12 since the 12 is in parentheses when really the importance of it is just the operation within the parentheses.
Which is honestly the deciding factor here.
It doesn’t matter if you learned DMAS or MDAS or DMSA or MDSA.
Fuck this shit. I got my math teacher right here.
multiply and divide are equal so
(48/2)(9+3) = 288
48/2(9+3) = 2
You’re gonna turn some worlds upside down here with the way this thread is going.
(48/2)(9+3) /= 48/2(9+3)
The question was what is 48/2(9+3)
