haha yes because some are programmed differently than others. It is all how you interpret the multiplication. This will vary from human to human, calculator to calculator, and math software to math software.

Does a(b) take priority over a x b… that’s what this problem is all about. And it sucks. haha

exactly some calculators are programmed in this order:

parenthasis
exponents
implied multiplication
explicit multiplication
division
addition
subtraction

this is because many people write in this way and/or were taught this way.
