Not so much a kill…
Just finished up with a BBQ at a local park and was on my way home. I was alone in the car so I decided to take the long way as I dont drive the car every day anymore. On my way down XXX I see a familiar set of headlights coming at me and then see the tails and instantly know it is a Challenger.
I turn around at the next driveway and play catch up. I get behind him at a signal and follow him out of town. He makes a right turn off of XXX and hits the gas. I was a bit behind when he made the turn but dropped into second and wound it out to the top of 4th to catch up.
We didnt have a chance to line up, but played a bit of cat and mouse through the twisties. I didnt really have a hard time catching up or sticking with him. After some fun he pulled of of the street into a parking lot and we chatted a bit. It was a Black Challenger with 2700 miles on it and he said he has had it up to 140mph. Plans on taking it to the strip next year. I didnt get a good look at it as it was pretty dark in that area.
Honestly I was impressed on how quick it was. I just had my car retuned for the new header set up by Mike at Innovative and my torque is quite a bit of fun. HP wise I am a bit behind the Challenger, but the STIs lighter weight and ability to corner made it a fun run. Im curious to see what it would have done straight line. Some of the websites have it trapping 103.
Nice guy and hope to see him at the track next year.
