5.1 speakers

Haven’t treated myself to some ballin audio shit since I bought my Z2300s for like $280 or whatever they went for back in the day. I blew out one of my satellites and want to get a 5.1 dealio.

Anyone have experience with these?

I’m looking for something in that price range with as good quality as my Z2300s.

I’m looking to blow walls off.

Let me know any experience you guys have with blastin 5.1 computer/home theater shit.

Muchos gracias.

Logitech.

They put in WORK. One of my house mates has them…we could hear it from the 4th floor of our dorm back in the day. He was on the first floor. On the opposite side of the dorm.

They will do work for you, and will take lots of abuse. He’s had them almost a year now.

I have the Logitech Z-5 surround speakers, only 2 speakers, but they sound amazing. I like the designs of Logitech stuff. /pjb

Haha yeah I’m at the end of my hall around the corner and my Z2300s could be heard from the lobby before i fucked up one of the speakers.

Also quite often www.Midnightbox.com has older model Logitech 5.1 systems.

If I’m going to upgrade, I’d want the “new” Z-5500s that aren’t really that new at all(2004)

Ughhhhh, I’d rather put the ~$350 into upgrading my original four speaker 1988 sound system in the MR2, two of which are blown :facepalm.

I don’t even know what to upgrade to, I don’t even have room for a subwoofer and I don’t know anything about amps or wiring or any of that.

Can $400 do anything speaker-wise in a car?

Yeah def. Speakers are not that much. Could do a nice component set. Not really room for subs, maybe a truck box like single 10" I havent done stereo shit in a long time

I think its more clear in your case. Put 400 into speakers in your room you will enjoy 8 months out of the year (idk if you use them when you get home, I don’t lol), or put money into something that only sees 4 months of road time. Logitech speakers are def worth it, all the times I’ve used mine doing schoolwork has been well worth it.

Yeah that’s what I was originally thinking but I hateeeeee listening to music in the eeeMR2, I go from the best 2.1 speakers on the market to two speakers from 1988. Plus my Z2300s still bump, just not 100%. Maybe 80% which is still louder than most people consider necessary.

I’m looking into eeeeeMR2 audio now.

As far as car tho, my hatch only has 2 speakers stock. I have two Arc Audio 6x9 in boxes, right behind the seats. Made a big difference in the roach.

I see where you’re coming from. Speakers aren’t that expensive though, unless you want super super high end. I had pioneers in my Alero and they were awesome and cost under 150 all around to do.

Apparently I have 4" speakers in the dash and 3.5" speakers in the rear. Any idea how much pairs of decent quality would cost and if I would have to screw around with the wiring? Could they be plug and play?

Crutchfield sometimes has good deals on speakers. Others here probably know better than me. The stock speakers will probably have some sort of clip connecting them to the harness. You either need to cut that off, and wire straight to speaker terminals, or make the clip work with new speakers. I can use either 6.5 slim, or 5.25" speakers in my doors, and they are cheap across most brands, as they are a popular size. So I dont know for those sizes.

Kramer, if you buy these wanna sell me your old ones? haha. I need something other than these crappy speakers I got currently

I had (still have) the Logitech 2.1 version of those and they fucking SLAM. So, buy it.

Try to get a hold of Logitech, they might be able to hook you up.

Also, PM sent.
