55 Harley Panshovel

for about 8k you can find a bike that has already been done like this.
the biggest cost is going to be based on what motor you are trying to go with.

and don’t be put off because you don’t have fabrication skills like CTN.
the popularity of these bikes are through the roof so 9 times out of 10 there is already an aftermarket bolt on part available.
the quality and craftsmanship isn’t going to be up to par with fabricating it yourself but for most it will get the job done.

places like lowbrowcustoms.com and throttleaddiction.com are just a few places to source stuff like tanks/bars/pipes/seats etc etc.

ok cool, bikes a really a foreign thing to me, I wrench on cars/trucks gas and diesel and the occasional dirtbike/atv/snowmobile. I had an old Kawasaki bobber I put together 3-4 years ago (hardtail, seat, tank, bars) but the bike was just way too small for me. plus it wasn’t exactly what I wanted and how I pictured it, it was a learning experience for sure but buying “building” a chopper like your bike XwalkerX is what I would like to really start planning so I can make a purchase and get going this winter hopefully

The buyer paid 6 grand for the bike and I have at least 4500 in parts in it. Then labor on top of that. I disagree with walker. You won’t get something this clean and custom for 8k. More like 10-12 and it will be another “me too” chopper. Maybe for a cone shovel.

Well, it is a Harley…

How about ‘me too’ Hondas for like 1/4 or less of that budget? :poop:

Not feeling the rear fender, reminds me of a 70’s vette. Rest of it looks great

Made a brake pedal and linkage. Relocated master. Started some of the wiring. Mounted ignition switch and a circuit breaker.

I was going to not put any switches on the bars, but since this bike is for a newer rider, I decided to put a kill switch on the bars, I’m trying to decide the best way to wire that, but need to see what my switch options are first. If I can get a decent high/low pushbutton that’s very small, that would be the best, but I can wire it to a momentary switch as well (so it wouldn’t need to be held down).

Anyway, here are some pictures:

Looks great

this bike needs a sportbike front master cylinder

wompy has em

im sure you can prob just make it yourself though

I wasn’t sure about the front master… I sorta liked the look of the OEM one, but one with a smaller reservoir would be nice. I guess I should decide now because the kill switch I was planning on installing would mount to the brake lever…

A motocross bike will have a much smaller master that tucks better so it’s out of the way in a crash. Just an option to look into.

How about a grenade pin for a kill switch? Pull the pin and bike shuts off?

No dodgy chopper wiring here. Color coded, soldered and shrink wrapped in braided loom with OEM Deutsch Connectors

I haven’t updated the diagram to show colors, yet. Check that Killswitch relay.

I would’t mind some braided loom for the weekend project, have you found any sold locally? I forgot to order earlier this week…

No place locally will have it for a reasonable price. Maybe @LUKE_L

I actually am all out of F6… :frowning: Sorry @Mike93.

This is the best source; but not local: http://www.cableorganizer.com/f6-wrap-around/

I have a ton of “pre-loved” old GM plastic loom that you are welcome to. I have 1/2" to 1.5" dia in various lengths.

No worry, I ordered and ended up working on some other things in the meantime.

AmazonPrime to the rescue:) Thanks for your offer though, Luke!

check out HighwayDirtBikes.com for small switch mounts

love this place. I’ve bought 3 sets of ultimate guards from them.

I actually made a really tiny killswitch right on the brake mount and it works and looks great.
