So last years time attack solo sprint went pretty well, was able to win SGT2 class pretty easy, and would be in the top 3 times all the time…
last year I added a new front splitter to the car which really helped settle the car down…
this spring I decided to do some more aero testing, since our series rules allow it…
I got some much higher rear wing mounts made so the rear wing is seeing clean air now…and I mounted a outlaw dirt track wing on the nose of the car…(I know I know it looks crazy looking and stupid) however in initial testing it really seems to plant the car down at speed…I got some inspiration from some of the pikes peak cars…its mounted to the cars frame…and out of my line of sight…some basic calculations say it should be putting close to 400lbs+ of downforce at 150mph
I will be doing more testing July 1 at mosport big track to make sure its stable at much higher speeds…hope to get into the 1:31’s with the front wing on…
here is a pic of the crazy wing…I know its silly looking
holy crap can i bring my car on track and get passed by u lol seriously
And I SWEAR TO GOD… just last night i had a dumb dream about my car… i sometimes dream about my 240 (wow obsessed) and dreams being dreams (not making any sense) I dreamed about side wings (LMAO) above the wheels looking JUST RETARDED like that… but im sure that will kick ass hahaha… i’m going to assume you will trailer that
Yes I still have to build a undertray and rear diffuser…however its a PITA to build one…and a front and rear wing should vastly outperform a undertray and rear diffuser setup…
basically I am going for the easiest way to do things since the rule set allows it
Hey
Awesome car. Have you seen the pics of Chris Rados time attack Scion. Hes using a front wing as well. Guess its works well with the high horsepower motors
Can you take a pic of the rear wing mounting inside the trunk. I have the same rear wing as you and I’m having doubts that how I am mounitng it on the rear deck will be strong enough.
I am guessing outer clearance issues but not inner clearance issues in the rear right.
On my s13 in the front i fit 255s but i can’t really lower the car any more if i dun wana rub the wheel wells. Had to bend fender seams and move harness up (tighten). Fenders had to bend and mash. For 275s would definetely need to cut up wheel wells. Mostly i guess has to do with me running more caster though…
Rear though I have stupendous space.
Curious on your adevnture with fitting the rears though lol…
Glad to see you finally filled those wheel wells, I always thought the car had too little tire for the amount of power it had.
I also spy Andrew’s Tempo in the 3rd pic
