6+ monitors?

Anyone ever build out something to control 6+ monitors from one PC?

Graphics cards?
Software?

Thoughts?

I want to be able to hybrid span a couple and run certain applications in others.

I don’t care if its some software/hardware solution or what it costs im not paying for it.

Insane

I’ve always loved the simplicity of Ultramon. I’ve used it with 6 monitors before.

way more insane
id love to see this in person

Look on engadget. They had a single card capable of 8 monitors posted. $2k tho

matrox has some nice graphics cards that can handle around 8 monitors on a single card

6 30inch monitors for 1199? something is not right hur.

That’s for the stand.

I know that ATi just introduced cards with a feature called “eyefinity” that lets you plug three monitors into a single card. You could use two of those in Crossfire. Or as mentioned previously Matrox has a card that can handle an insane amount of monitors.

Eh, we had a bunch of traders with 6 monitors. Depending on the PC, we usually just used 2 PCI quad cards. If your new PC has more than one PCIx, I’m sure you can support 2 quad cards, or a quad and a dual.

never been a fan of multiple monitors… Don’t like to see seams in my view but it can be handy for work purposes.

These guys will send you everything you need from the mounts to the monitors to the graphics cards and include the software needed to properly run it all.

looks like 4-5k total for a nice 8 monitor setup.

I can’t function on a single monitor… no matter what size and resolution it is.

I ran six at once at work, but it was across 3 computers linked up with synergy, not a single tower solution. one os x, one linux one windows…

Its for displaying multiple pieces of monitoring software they are getting wall mounted.

well if theyre going to be wall mounted the only thing you need is the right video card.

look at the nvidia quadro nvs 400 series. they can support up to 4 monitors per card and you can run multiple cards to achieve what you need. the drivers and nvidia software will take care of the rest.

I can’t tell if this would be fun to use for gaming or not. those seems look like they’d get to me

That kinda reminds me of the NFTA building, if anyones ever been inside.
