66 Chevelle project

My future Father-in-Law and I have been working on a 66 Chevelle post car, and I just recently took pictures of it. It just came back from paint, it was painted Cobalt Red. The car has alot of custom parts in it, the dash is completely custom, and the scoop was chopped down and fiberglassed to to be a little more sleek, and it bolts onto the inside now instead of the outside. All door handles and the trunk lock has been shaved. It has a fuel cell in the trunk, and I am working on speaker boxes. The dash is 3/4" plexiglass, with a JVC ElKameleon headunit that blends in completely with the black painted plexiglass. The engine is a 396 bored .30 over, with 427 heads. It has a Barry Grant 1000 carb, and the transmission was completely redone and set up for drag racing. The car was completely refinshed from the ground up. I will try to find some before pictures to post up as well. The wheels are 18" KMC Stealths, we are still looking for a decent cheap set of used tires for now…so if anyone has some, let me know, i will grab them up.

Anyways…just thought I would share these pics with you all

very nice

Thats awesome, good work! Can’t wait to see it rolling around!

thanks…we are anxious to get it running and get it on a Dyno to see how much power she has. We should have it all put together in the next month. There is not much left to do, just wiring, and we need to make a couple brackets for the radiator. Then its lust throwing the interior together. Oh…we also need a driveshaft made, but we dont know where to go for that yet.

Now there’s a nice project.

awesome

Nice car.

I think Neville Island has a leaf spring and drive shaft shop down there. Might want to call them to see if they can build you one. They probably only do steel.

Pittsburgh Driveshaft on rt. 51 by C3 mall? I think they custom make driveshafts.

Got one there a few years back, good prices as well

thanks…i’ll have to make a few phone calls tomorrow.

Island Spring and driveshaft- They still do cars and truck Driveshafts.

guy is awesome. did my driveshaft in 3 hours when i needed it shortend for my lt1 swap. he just helped out cleanquik306 also. he just got a custom u-joint done that was staggered sized. cost him only like 20 bucs or something.

highly recommended. its near the rt51/lebonon church rd intersection…

car looks awesome also.

awesome

i can’t wait to see it in person

very nice car, i’m not to big on mailbox hood scoop’s but that car is damn nice!!

We finally got the tires mounted, and the wheels put on. The car is now completely wired…Painless wiring my ass :reloading . The bumpers, the radiator, and the Holley Strip Annihilator is hooked up. We are about ready to fire it up. We are going to take a week and go over every single nut and bolt to make sure everything is tightened, and torqued. Next is the Glass, Exhaust and the Driveshaft, and she is ready to terrorize some rice on the streets…lol. I would say it will be at next months FLD’s because we have to break it in a little before we go smoldering tires off of it. Here are the latest pics
