They all say 100% bolt on but if u want it right you will have to tweak things
It won’t. Lol. That’s why I’m on baby boost

just talked to mike, they are moving into another shop asap. already have keys. tunes might be pushed off, no dyno time as of now… all are street tunes and hell call me early next week to see if he can tune my truck or not.
FFFFFFFFFFFF
this is horrible to happen to such a great group of guys
gm auto’s dont even hold up at stock power levels. lol
can you still put the vette shift servos and such in the newer transmissions?
edit…so new era’s shop caught fire? it that bad that they have to relocate? fawk.
Well I’ll cancel my tuning appointment till I get tires. The tires are not going to hold 150 lol
Yes we can, its a very popular upgrade but a tuner can increase the line pressure which i think does the same thing.
Yeah, i guess its pretty bad, I plan on going over there sunday to help move and clean.
what wheels/tires do you have?
Going to new era
The corvette servo helps to mechanically adjust line pressure you can only safely tune in line pressure to a point. (From what I’m told.)
New Era is the best. Build is over w. tune is spot on and nasty. Now posts will be in the kills section.
 fast turnaround.
show curve!
ill be sweet talking my bf turbociv for a dyno sheet
Seems like most guys are launching these in 4wd with no problems… I wanna read into it more before leaving at 5 psi
I launch the GMC in 4wd on the street but I have a built 4l80e and trans case. I’m not sure how the stock stuff will handle it, but with a factory stall I doubt there will be any problems.
Think he is better off building the 4l60e thats in it or converting it to the 4l80e? I know you have to swap a bunch of stuff for the 80 but is it worth it? For that price is a built 60 worth it since its a direct fit?
4l80e is always stronger…It should bolt right up? I’m sure there is a kit for speedo and I thought people were able to use HP Tuners to make the stock PCM control the 80.
Go look at all the people who blow up built 4l60es
Its the same shit they run into with an F-body and the truck also has the added disadvantage of weight.
its a lot more than speedo change, drive shafts, cross members, harnesses… everything. yeah they bolt up to the block but its a decent project. the cost and labor to put a bullet proof 80 would be about double compared to having a built 60. Guys are running low 11s with built 60s with the same truck as me. But they are still a little worried. I want 500 wheel thats reliable. If i can get a company to stand by a 600hp 4L60E ill buy one, otherwise ill go with the 80. Im gonna hold off on the power, until I have something ready for a trans. it makes plenty of power as is
500 wheel should put me around mid 12s. I would be very very happy with that
The 4l80e swap isn’t that bad… but I wouldn’t do it. I’d look around for a used built 4l60/65e to swap in when the time is right.

get that some day
A properly built 4L60E can handle anything he is going to throw at it. The problem is finding a competent shop to build one. I’m only aware of 2 places that constantly get high marks. RPM and FLT. Both companies have tons of cars running well into the single digits, and these are cars with huge converters.
I’ve researched and done my homework on the swap. It’s a solid idea but cost effectiveness and time… Eh. “not that bad” lol how many have you done? Mhm
I’ve talked to both shops before I bought the turbo. Both have huge number of followers that praise their builds. It will come down to customer service, turn around time and warranty. I’m keeping it a daily and very streetable and super clean build.
When mike turbo’d his wifes TBSS, we did a few AWD lunches. It was really bad ass, A truck that big should not do that from a street light I know it did that about 20 times and was fine, haha
I’ve done one 4l80e swap into a truck. They have the wiring harness adapter if you want it computer controlled or you can go vacuum actuated. Modified cross member, 6.0 spaced flywheel, shifter linkage modified, fill tube, driveshaft I think that was it. Your 4x4 migh be harder with the newer style transfer case I’m not sure how that would work. Like you said though a solid 4l60 will be fine.
