780 HP Street Fighter Mustang GT

Been doing some thinking lately (which can be a dangerous thing) and started surfing around and looking at options. While I wasn’t a big fan of the new Mustang body style when it came out, but it’s starting to grow on me. The base 5.0 still doesn’t do much for me but the GT350R’s are certainly catching my eye but I just don’t think the cost is in the realm of possibility for me. I’d also like to be in a little bit higher HP arena and I’m obviously a fan of forced induction. Cruising ebay I came across these:

2016 Mustang Street Fighter GT “Drag Pack” Compare with Shelby GT500 and GT350

2016 Mustang Street Fighter GT “Drag Pack” - 5.0 L - Roush Supercharged 780 HP V8 Coyote. 6 Speed automatic transmission. In same as new condition with just 200 miles. Grey exterior with black leather interior with color co-ordinated stitching.
We took this brand new Mustang GT and gave it the full Modern Muscle Cars treatment, and then we went a bit further. Our phase 3 package that we call the “Street Fighter GT DRAG PACK.” Our Street Fighter package consists of a Roush Supercharger, 20" custom KMC rims and Nitto Nt 555 tires up front and Nitto drag radials out back for that extra traction needed with this kind of horsepower. We also added our patented axle back exhaust so that it sounds as bad as it is! Then we added leather seats with custom matching stitching front and back, and the custom striping down the center line. We put the big boy tune on this which comes in at 612HP to the rear wheels. (See the dyno sheets.) That calculates to 780 HP at the crank. Now, for the automatic to handle the extra horsepower we added a one piece aluminum driveshaft. The end result? The Modern Muscle Cars “Street Fighter GT DRAG PACK.”
What we have created is the fastest Mustang on the streets. Faster than the GT350, faster than the Shelby GT500. It’s even faster than our HellCat.
This GT Street Fighter Drag Pack is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds, and go through the quarter mile in the high 10’s.
NOTICE: At the current horsepower rating, this car will not pass emissions testing in the following States: Arizona, California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine , Maryland , Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington.
We can however, reduce the tune to 670HP which is ALL 50 STATES LEGAL and will pass all emissions testing at no additional cost. We eliminate the aluminum driveshaft and apply the savings toward the 3 year 36,000 mile Roush power train warranty, which is available with the 670HP tune.
Your choice, 670HP with power train warranty, or 780HP with aluminum driveshaft and no powertrain warranty.

There’s a company (not a dealership) in Ocala FL that apparently makes these mods to new GT’s. I haven’t dug too far into the details on the warranty, and or potential financing options, but I like what I see up front. I’ve seen the Lebanon OH Ford Dealerships upgraded GT’s and they have some interest as well, but this company seems to take the “aesthetics” just a little further, and I like it. It would be where I’d end up taking a Lebanon Ford package once they did the engine / power work.

I know there’s guys on here who have more knowledge and experience with Mustangs than I, so I’m just looking for some input and responses. Thanks.

They’re pretty reliable and those new mustangs have a factory wideband so mail order tunes and what not run great.

You could just buy one and slap a Paxton/vortech on it yourself.

I like the name Street Fighter.

+1

The rear tires in that pic look niiiice.

im kind of confused why you think this is such a great deal compared to the Lebanon Mustang GT which is $39,995?

from what you posted the only additional things you get when you spend $54,900 for the “street fighter” Mustang is wheels/tires, exhaust, custom stitched leather seats, some vinyl racing stripes and a driveshaft if you get an automatic…

seems like a real bargain
:ham:

at least with the Lebanon GT you can get the phase 1 670hp tune and be fully covered at ANY ford dealer in the country for 3 years.
plus if you wanted they can get you a Roush body kit, upgraded suspension and whatever wheels/tires you want.

Never said it was a great deal, or a bargain.

i just think you would be kinda crazy to willingly throw away 15k when you could get all that stuff done for less at a ford dealership much closer

Have you heard one on the new GT350’s? They sound incredible.
