right from the GNX book: first pic is ur grey cap and second pic is ur black cap.
and…AND i examined my pics from bowling green… most of the 8 or so X’s there had grey caps, one had black and one had metal (obviously aftermarket)
Richard is taking for granted that GM would be totally consistant…which they are not! GNX no matter how much we put them on a pedastal are not hand build ferraris and i dont wanna hear all the crap about ASC mcclaren… hell, someone stole the fucken car right off them! you think they had guys in white doctors coats working on these cars? no, some kid was probably put in charge of puting air in all the tires and was handed a few bags of valve caps from God knows where OR … they would have just reused the same stems they took out of the GN wheels! <—that is more likely what happened
richard can know all the book smarts and date stamped codes etc… but who’s to say someone at the assembly line didnt have a few bags of grey caps that were made years earlier…
i’m happy to say richard is wrong and his engineering degree doesn;t amount to a lil common sense and some fact checking. and ron is not totally right or wrong either.
