9-5'ers, what do you do for lunch?

Looking for some new ideas for food to bring in or to get takeout. My office is near Delaware Park, so retaurant/takeout/delivery choices are almost unlimited, but

  1. I’d like to find heathier alternatives
  2. I’d like to stop spending $10+ a day on lunch

Currently we usually get:
Marcos
Dagwoods
Casa di Pizza
Bob & Johns
Chinese
Mighty
ETS
Globe Market
Romeo & Juliets
Dolce Vita
Wegmans

All good, but either bad for you or expensive, or both.

If I bring in lunch, its usually just some Lean Cuisine shit.

India gate on elmwood. Saigon Cafe also elmwood.

both rob’s choices rule.

wegmans has unlimited potential. just make your own stuff.

@ delaware+hertel is taste good. it’s Chinese, but they have this awesome vegetarian general tso’s “chicken”. It pwns.

Ambroisa’s chicken soulvaki isn’t too shabby either.

i honestly brought a blender into work and blend up a decent sized shake and have that for lunch :frowning:

oats, peanut butter, milk, banana = good to go

+1

cook food the night before?

I love India Gate, I’ve only gotten dinner there though. Will definitely have to get lunch there.

I cook almost every night, but I do a lot of seafood so its not really ok the next day.

I have never been there for dinner but lunch had a buffet. It was all really good.

Dude, $10/day on lunch is insane.

$10/day x 5/week x 4/month = $200/month. My CAR PAYMENT is less than that. :jawdrop:

Make something healthy for dinner, then bring leftovers for a health and free lunch.

I cook a lot of fairly elaborate, healthy recipes all the time, but like I said its usually seafood related so I don’t like to save it. When I do chicken stuff I usually bring some in the next day. I really only eat unhealthy stuff when I’m at work lol.

I hear ya. I wish I practiced what I preach. I try to bring my lunch, but it’s just so much easier to eat crap from the cafeteria. :gotme:

Subway $1.99 sub of the day and their macadamian nut cookies are addicting. Im approaching 200pts. on my subway card.
