Well, the CR MR2 is being delivered tomorrow evening to it’s new owner, so a new DD was needed. Picked up this Eclipse RS from neonglh on here (good guy) about 6 months ago. The car was quite the project, but after a ton of time, and some help from neonglh, Gary Burch, and Luke L, it is now running well and on the road. It actully drives terrific, and I’ll likely keep it for a good bit. I’ll post the “during” part of the restoration in a few days. In any event here’s a few photos all finished…
I own a fairly substantial Turbo car to begin with, plus another project MR2…the last thing I need is some crank walking POS DSM for a daily driver. I might as well DD me Esprit, it’s far more reliable than one of those…
I personally love the fact that this is an RS…most basic, lightest, and has everything I’d want, including cruise, A/C (ice cold!), PW and PL, plus great mileage to boot. What more do you need in a DD?
I agree, Honda’s always my top choice. But hey, the price was right, and they say variety is the spice of life, right? I’m slowly knocking out owning all makes from Japan, one car at a time…
Sorry to dissapoint your pending tri-fecta of hate, but it’s a 5-speed. You can still go on and hate as you wish, I don’t really give a fuck what you think. I hardly have much of a relationship with anything Mitsubishi anyways…this was simply a reasonably cheap new mode of transport for the time being, and so far it’s doing it’s job. When I’m done with it, I’ll probably sell it to some DSM fanboy who will likely tear it apart to make it a “racecar” and then it will probably never see the road again…
