93 Accord problem

I have a 93 Accord Lx that I got to be my winter beater a few months ago. Car ran fine until about a week ago. When first started the idle bounces between about 800 and 2200 rpms until it warms up. The bigger issue is that when the car is in gear and accelerating it bogs horribly and starts bucking and kicking on me. The only thing that will get it going is if I floor it then it goes back to normal and starts accelerating again. Doesn’t always do it but it has gotten more frequent recently. Not sure if the 2 problems are connected or not. The plugs/wires/dist. are all only about 5 months old so i’m fairly certain it’s not an ignition issue. No check engine light or anything. Someone told me possibly the throttle positioning sensor. Any ideas on here? Thanks alot guys.

I’ve seen the idle issue before due to a bad or disconnected coolant temp sensor, as for the bucking, I doubt it has a relation with the other issue but it could be a short somewhere

Check the coolant temp sensor like mentioned above, also check the throttle position sensor. You should also pull the plug wires off and make sure there isn’t oil leaking into the sparkplug holes. I’ve seen this cause runability issues before.

My guess would be a bad Throttle Position Sensor also.

Thanks guys. I’m gonna take a look at it tomorrow and put a new throttle position sensor in it. I’ll post up and let you know if it works.
