There’s a headliner that goes on top of that. It’s the highest I can make without removing the head liner. It’ll help don’t worry; i was sizing it up for 2 days with the seats in and helmet. That’s basically the highest I could make it.
They are 305’s I could go to the 335’s if I wanted; it be a stetch on those wheels. I wanted 12.5 wide in the rears but all they made was 11.5’s or 13.5’s.
The tires are the RII’s for road racing not drag. I plan to take it to beaver run eventually; but ill still take it down the strip for the hell of it.
love the build and the color
that’s awsome man
wish i could have went through with my v8rex (82 rx7 with buick 350/200r4)
just so much shit went wrong i just junked the car and using the spare engine/trans for spares…
Looking good & really coming along well. I LOVE the Blue Pearl color, nice choice!
Have wanted to do one of these for several years. But I am short on talent in a couple of the core mods. So, I looked at a couple different completed swaps to just buy. But then realized I was out of gargage space to store it. DUH! An FD swap does bring good $$.
Keep up good work. Very nice.

Alternator bracket I had to build. I have a vette Ls2 instead of the gto and the accesories are completely different. The alternator would have hit on the hood so I had to make its on bracket and line it up on the belt drive.

OFF TO PAINT!!! FINALLY!
That is going to look awesome when it is done. What is left to do after paint? After the engine is dropped back in are you done or do you still have suspension/electronics work to do?
The engine needs to be dropped in. I finished my fuel system and cooling setup. Most of the electronics are done, however I have not tested it yet so… who knows haha. :eek4:
Once it’s back from paint i’d say a month of solid work and i’ll be atleast driving/testing it out. Keep in mind i was planning on driving this thing in june though.
I know that story all too well.
cool build project,
great car+great motor=fun
looks like your into august on this project, take your time it will be worth it.
mazda body, chevy motor, ford frame. Sounds weird when you put it like that, but its going to be downright sexy when its done. Any plans for fixed projector headlights?
any updates on this project ?
good call…there hasn’t been an update in like 2 months.
i’m assuming the car has been painted by now so there have to be more pics!
lol…yup i’m really interested in seeing more progress on this car
i deff want to see this thing finished in person, Bad ass man!!!
lets get some updates!
Sorry guys, i’m in the process of moving everything I own across the city. I’ll have some updates after christmas.
I’m not in too big of a hurry at the moment since i’m obviously not going to be able to drive it for another 5 or so months due to winter.
dude this is gonna be an amazing ride.
Alright guys, here’s some pics of it painted.
The pictures came out absolutely horrible, there is like no lighting my garage. It looks 10x better in person.
You can see the molded flares turned out great after tons of sanding and shaping, can’t really even tell they are not stock unless you know what it previously looked like.
SICK cant wait to see some video of it up and running. keep it up
