He got confused when you were telling him shaving about your balls, he thought you said shaving your engine bay.
i laughed out loud when i read that!
Youre on lumberjack
:lol
Ok, so I need a few opinions. Im REALLY thinking about selling my 331, and swapping in the new Coyote 5.0 from the 2011’s. They are dimensionally very similar to the 4.6 mod motors, and I could make the engine fit pretty easily, and use the Ford Racing harness to get everything up and running. The only issue Id really forsee would be transmission fitment. Id LOVE to go with the 6spd that come in the new cars(Auto preferably, its a drag oriented car), but idk how it will fit in an SN95 hull. To my understanding the bellhousing has 4.6 bolt patterns, so a 4R70W may work if the 6spd doesnt…
All in all I think it would be a cool swap, and should move real good, seeing how my car is well over 500lbs lighter than a new GT. Im thinking with just intake, custom made headers/exhaust, and a tune it should go mid 11’s with ease. And naturally Id spray the car :lol
Would prolly be $$$$ and not worth it other than the “cool story bro” factor.
I think the new 5.0 in a notchback would be baller, though.
sell me your 331 REAL cheap
So in a notch it would be cool, but not my car lol. It would be pricey, but the streetability would be awesome, and would make real good power with minimal mods.
Idk about real cheap, theres over $6K in that motor, but we can work something out Im sure.
Keep the 331 and save for a new motor like a 408.
Im thinking a new 5.0 crate motor is expensive as hell right now since the motor is brand new. Also youre going to be spending a ton of cash for a new motor and tranny that are bone stock so it wont be nearly as fast as your car would be with the 331.
Also dont buy a first year engine because it always seems like something gets fixed or improved the following year.
Or you could just buy a '11+ GT for a daily driver and do a few bolt on mods and run 12’s.
I dunno I’ve always thought of the notch as the “ultimate” bustang. You already have a hopped up SN95 so just keep hoppin it up or offload it!
the only way id want it is if it was cheap bust most likely im gonna build a 408 or something similar for my car.
Honestly, it would be just as fast, if not a good bit faster than what I have now, both motor to motor, and spray to spray. You figure Evo went 10.5@128 with a 150 shot in a much heavier car, subtract ~500lbs from that and I have no doubt as long as the car hooks I could run bottom 10’s@130 or so. The crate engine is actually pretty well priced, its $6100, and to build a 408 the way I want would be WELL over that, closer to the 10-12K range. The streetability is really selling me as well. Being able to go to LG and get 25mpg, and have a quick car is really selling me.
I may just buy a '11 in the sprng instead though lol. Who knows.
Yeah notch’s are sick! Unfortunately, I could never sell my car. Had it since I was 15, and it doesnt cost me a thing to sit around for awhile. It just has too much sentimental value to off…
For what youre getting it would be “cheap”, but Im not going to just give away a great motor, nahhhhh meannn.
:rofl
ok but add to that $6100 the price of the wiring, computer, fuel system and everything else needed to make it run and then add the price of a tranny and youre probably close to $10k easy.
Id wait for a 2012 5.0 if anything. First year cars often arent the best and tend to have issues.
Where Im at now, I need to buy a new trans, at 2-3K, so either way Im going to have to source a trans. I will need the harness and PCM, which Im not sure what the cost is, but I cant imagine it being TOO ridiculous. Im at a point where I really wanna do something different, the 331 is a great motor, but its been in(and out lol) of the car for over 5yrs, just time for somethin new!
twin turbo flathead v8. That would certainly be different.
Buy new 5.0 as a daily driver.
Do it, you won’t! ADAM.
