944 goes BOOM, lots of smoke out tail.

So as I posted before, I popped the radiator in Indiana. I suspected it was due to plastic end tanks and shitty Indiana roads (seriously worst roads ever). When I got it home though, I noticed I was blowing some vapor out the tail pipe, and hitting on 3 when I wasnt under load, and hitting on 4 when I gave it some gas. Hmmm sounds like a headgasket to me…

I suspect it was due to the lean pops from the issue with the crank trigger causing the engine management to freak out and back fire through the intake. We’ll see if I’ve corrected that when it’s back together. Oh yeah, and as a note… remember to jack your camber plates out before driving a few thousand miles… was still running my track alignment for Rochester - Buffalo - Chicago - Indianapolis… whoops!

Sorry to hear.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

LOL j/k

porsches are for fags anyways… get a tiburon you baller.

Only if it’s got holes in the rotors. (And I DONT mean crossdrilled/slotted).

Car might be back up and running tomorrow, depends on how hungover I am.

mike, i’m sure you’ll bring it back to life…bigger and better

I wont talk about the new engine  But this one will make it to the end of the year.

so its out of a honda then?

944 w/ T51 D15Y ?

4G63 actually, so I can have an even more unreliable car.

M5 motor you pulled a while back?

:frowning: sorry to hear that.

goodluck, good to hear its nothing too major

The engine itself is pretty reliable…It’s the rest of the car you have to worry about.

See crank. See Crank walk, Walk crank walk.

On another note, there is a design flaw with the water passages on the 951, which aparently wasnt taken care of by whoever had this engine open before me… which may cause the car to go down for awhile :hang:

That sux mike hope you get it back going soon. If there is anything you need I have done the headgasket on my 951 last year when i had to pull the head.
