Went out to start my car today....

So I’ve been battling many issues on the 951, trying to get bugs worked out, and the car tuned… and started… etc etc etc. So finally today, after a boat load of issues, problems, a tec3r mistake made by someone else (two pins got swapped in the main harness) that caused my crank to read as my cam, and my realization that my fuel pump wasnt hooked up… I’m ready to start the car. I hook up the engine moniter, my TPS is whacking out, and my air temp and coolant are reading -70ºC… grrr. So we decide that the car can start like that and maybe that’ll kick the sensors into reading properly. So what do I do, the logical thing after putting a car back together, one over it, make sure there are no leaks, nothing unplugged, etc, etc. All good to go, I start cranking the car, get oil pressure, plug the coils in, and hey look at that injector seals #2 and #4 are fucking BLOWN, and now there is gas all over my cylinder head… great… So now, my car sits once again. Maybe one day it’ll be back on the road. I think I’m going to shoot for '07 since it was last on the road Oct '04. So basically now I’m waiting on seals, a specialty bolt for the shifter linkage, and a few other things. Everytime I get close something else breaks… atleast it’ll be a new car when it’s done, right? /rant

who installed your tech3r??? I think i was one of the last to see your car at NYI a few years ago when we cruised back on the highway.:frowning: It will all come together soon enough.

I installed it, the wiring mistake was by the guy who built the harness. Which he helped me fix, wasnt hard, just a pain in the ass. The two sensor’s im concerned about. Yeah, you were pretty much one of the last people to see my car.

I had the same problem last year with the dub… EVERYthing kept breaking… I had it on the road from march to October and put 100 miles on it. You get the pleasure of knowing that you did it… that it was done right… and… once you get it on the road… it’ll all be worth it.

You and I will probably get back out on the same day…

It’s all worth it in the end

yea, i am anticipating my build for the slaaaab. im just going to not put money into it and then do it all. one shot.
-full engine teardown and cleaning/boring/finishing, block/head/intake/exhaust/turbine/exhaust/suspension/interior/exterior

…im shooting for 5 years:banghead:

I’m shooting for 3-4 on the new bimmer project. I fixed all the fuel issues on the pcar today. Maybe it’ll actually run tomorrow and I can fix those two sensor issues.

Hope you get those sensors fixed. I should have my clutch later next week so hopefully I should have my porsche back out before exams are over at UB.

It runs

is it drivable

No :frowning:

Soon maybe, I promise I’ll bring it with me to buffalo, rather than the bimmer when it is.

Nice!

Bring it to buffalo!
