So i got a aeba intake mani 65mm throttle body put on my car. oh and new head gasket and timing belt. the gasket is a tiny bit thinker than stock. got it put on. my gsr is running like shit. super overloaded with fuel. any ideas??
cel?
huh??
any check engine lights is what gearhead meant
check yout timing.
Reset your computer and check tps
do a compression test.
you bent all your valves
that was funny!
no check engine light at all.
does thinker mean thinner or thicker???..do you have the stock ecu in it?
Why in the world would you put that big of a TB and IM on a stock motor and expect it to run well?
You either have a serious timing issue, or all that extra air is causing a super rich condition which will wash out your rings in no time.
why do you always talk shit on others and what they do when you got nothing more then a rebuilt gsr …and lets not forget that you cant figure out how to work itbs…o and just wondering why you would wana put itbs…on your rebuilt gsr…its only like a stock type r…and all that gas will not hurt your rings…
i bet your timing is off …almost promise it…send me a pm…ill take a look at it for you
If the head gasket is thicker (idk because you said it was thinker) it would lower the compression of your motor.
yeah i meant thicker. lol
dude you dont even know dyingwish, watch who you talk to like that
i think its more likely your timing is out of wack then changing out a TB
im sure toby checked the timing when he did your belt. check the timing again though just to be on the safe side
i didnt think an intake mani and tb would cause such a rich condition. i have a skunk2 manifold on my stock ls and its fine. maybe its the tb but its a 65mm right? its not like its a 70 or bigger i wouldnt see that causing the problem
First off no one is talking shit douchebag. How is what is under my hood relevant to the question the OP asked? Who said anything about my motor, who said that’s the only motor I’ve done anything to? How many years have I been doing this? What was the real issue with my ITB’s? What exactly do I do with my car that led to the build I did?
Rich conditions will most definately wash out rings. Excessive fuel washing the oil film off the cylinder wall, which leads to lack of lubrication, which accelerates ring wear. Do your research. It’s that simple. Learn how the stock ECU reacts to changes, and why. You just might be able to answer your own question. In this particular case it appears to be install error, since it must’ve been running fine before you changed all that. You didn’t happen to do the timing belt and stuff before you changed the IM did you?
