95 Accord Runs Funny between 1900-2300rpms...HELP!

I have a 95 Honda Accord EX Vtec. Okay the problem is when Im driving and the car is between 1900-2300rpms it begins to sputter or wants to stall out. When Im over 2300rpms it run fine. A friend of mines has a 96 Accord EX Vtec and it does the same thing. What could it be?

did you try unbolting the VTEC off of his car and swapping it onto yours? also, when was the last time you replaced your muffler bearings?
