My 97 blacktop s13 sr hates cold start. It probably takes 5 minutes to sit there and turn the key every 2 seconds to try and start it. It’s fires like once or twice then dies. This happens like 10 times then it fires more and more then Finally starts right up. I have idea why it’s doing this. 02 sensor? Temp sensor? Wiring? Timing(even tho it’s factory never been touched)
Anyone have any ideas?
did it do this in the summer?
check if the start signal wire is connected (plug by the glove box on an s13)
thats what everyone is saying, imma look at that, it needs 12v switched right?
yes, could be ignition switch as well, eliminate that by jumping the start relay with key on “on” and clutch bypassed and in neutral (obviously)
Needs to be switched by the start position of the key. so it is off at all times except while holding the key to start. IIRC the wire is orange.
Thanks guys. I’m trying this tomorrow.
