99 Formula- New Forged 346-New Paint-Superhawk-M6-Nitrous

Up for sale is my 1999 Pontiac Firebird Formula. The car has 136,xxx miles on it and is originally from Georgia. It’s a 6-speed car with T-Tops , Charcoal Leather interior, power windows, locks and the AC has been removed. I bought the car as a project this past February and have put countless hours and money to get it to where it is today. It pains me to have to sell the car but sometimes life gets in the way. I have less than 1000 miles on the car since I’ve owned it.
Paint:
The car was prepped and painted by Kolorcraft Autobody and Marine here in Syracuse, NY. It was previously painted black. The color is a 2003 ford color-Dark Shadow Grey Metallic with a lighter black tint. It also has darker grey shadowing in the hood vents, fog light areas and vents on the side(See PICS) The Superhawk hood alone had 8 hours of prep before it was painted as it was still in gel coat when purchased. All of the door jams and hatch sills were painted and cleared as well. The engine bay was painted flat black to match the underside of the hood. It has not been washed since it was painted and has been quick detailed after each time it’s been driven.
Motor-
About three months ago, the oil pump failed and I ended up spinning a main bearing. The motor came out and was completely redone at TBR Machine. It currently has about 500 miles on it since the rebuild and runs great. It was street tuned by a local guy with HP Tuners. It makes great power all the way through the power band. I had it on a local dyno that reads about 35-40 rwhp high and it made 459/382 on motor and on a 150 shot with 4 degrees taken out it did 620/609.

-Aluminum Block with all brand new Federal Mogul cam, main and rod bearings. Using Brad Penn 10w-30 Oil since Rebuild.

-Mahle Pro-Pack Forged Pistons with new Mahle Rings
-Low Mileage Ls6 Crank-(Rods, pistons and crank were all re balanced during rebuild)
-Ported and Polished 241 heads with 2.02/194 Valves, Patriot Gold .650 springs and brand new ARP head bolt kit. New GM MLS Head Gaskets.
-New Milidon HV Oil Pump with new GM O-Ring -60 PSI oil Pressure.
-Comp 7.400 Hardened Pushrods
-Ls6 Intake with a BBK 80mm TB
-MSD Wires with new NGK TR6 plugs
-40 lb Injectors-
-255 intank Pump
-SLP Lid with K&N Filter
-New Oil Pressure Sensor

Things that need attention
The car currently has a black center console with a charcoal lid. I had to redo all the interior in the car as the previous owner tried to paint it. This was purchased online and I was told it was charcoal. You can’t really tell and it looks good in the car.
The seller did not give me the key for the doors or hatch. The keyless entry works fine.
The power antenna is broken but the radio still picks up channels.
Taillights have some small cracks and scratches in them.[/font]
There is an oil leak around the oil pan that seeps. It does drip a little bit of oil when parked overnight. I believe the rear motor plate might be a little off not letting the pan seat.
Since I have the larger diameter tire on the back(28”), the ABS fuse was pulled. The rear in the car is a 3 Channel and the car has 4 Channel wiring not connected.

The car is located in Syracuse NY. I’m looking for 9,500 obo. Thanks.

I’m going to take a break from cars for awhile. Lee has the car, doesn’t want to sell it and I don’t really want it back. It would be cool to get it back years down the road but who knows. And yes, I originally came up ith the “Whales Vagina” color. I had someone say it looked like a Bruise last week. Little silver, little blue, little green, little purple.

well the Hawks in good hands with Lee anyways…
I do dig the Formy alot, I just bought back my Gold Formy last week or I would be coming out to look at it…

This may be back up for sale if there is any interest. Below is an update to the original ad since I can’t edit it. I’m being completly upfront about the car and it’s current state so let me know if you have any questions.

-The car has brand new(20 miles) MT Drag Radials (275/60/15)

-I also replaced the tailights with very low mileage lights that are in perfect condition.

-Replaced both Rear Hatch Shocks and that works perfect now.

-Replaced the upper center console with a gray unit with a decent ashtray lid. The nitrous switches have been relocated to underneither and now has the cubby hole.

-Replaced the plugs with new NGK-TR6’s gapped to .35

-Did black overlays on the FORMULA and front bird on the car.

Issues-

-The car still does have the leak at the rear plate/oil pan. I will include a new used rear motor plate and new Fel-pro gasket sets to get this completed.

-The cold tune in the car is not right. It will not idle on its own until it gets driven for a min or two. After that, the car runs perfect. The part/full throttle is perfect. Also, the car has full timing into it and not the -4 degrees on motor last year. If you use nitrous, you would need to get a timing tuner or get it reset. Also, someitme cruizing on the highway, the SES light will flash at constant low RPMS.

-The rear end is whining on accel at 30+ speeds. It was very quiet when it was done but after a few thrashing passes, it got loud. That will need some attention. I’ve put close to 1000 miles in it’s current state and it should be fine.

Update- Had the Vin pulled from GM and now have 2 new sets of keys for the car. Both doors and hatch open with new key which cost me 60.00 total. TTT
