a different kind of question for balljoint fitment.....

so since im working on the s10 here and there, im set on a mission to get it as light as possible. i’ve found out from another build that going to a tubular lower control arm and coilover saves 33lbs over a stock lca, spring, and shock. so im going to build my own tubular lower control arms. i have everything figured out except for the sleeve that the balljoint presses into. i havent measured this yet, but on a press in balljoint, is the sleeve tapered or straight? i’m assuming it is straight, but you never know…

The shaft for the “Ball” shank is tapered. If it was straight it would have “slop.”
