That is bad, but not surprising
If you read that again my original statement was Major Manufacturer.
Companies like blouch, precision (although you might as well consider them a major manufacturer now since they have to make all their own parts now that garrett cut them off but they are china anyways), ATP turbo, FP, Tial are all turbo modifiers. Some of the companies are stepping it up and making their own parts but that doesnât put them in contention for major manufacturer. We are talking about companies that produce hundred of thousands of turbo chargers a year.
I thought turbonetics was precision? not garrett.
well i guess ill have to look into holset again now, and i was actually gonna get a gt35r tooâŚlol⌠oh wellâŚ
So precision is garbage?
I know the one on my SHO has been through hell and back and it is worked flawlessly but it is 3 years and over 40K old so I donât think that applies here. I just purchased a sizable percision so I sure hope their quality is as good as my last one.
Precision quality dropped off about a year ago. Tons of problems.
That is not what one wants to hear after dropping that kind of money
x2.
I really donât think this letter is any reason not to ever buy a Garrett turbo again. Sounds like someone who just got shit-canned or has to pay $15 more a week for health insurance. Iâve always has luck with Garrett products.
As with the other brands of turbos there have been a few warranty issues with Precision and Garrett turbos over the years, but nothing crazy. I agree that the letter of a disgruntled employee is not going to keep people from using the product.
For what itâs worth Precision is no longer using Garrett center sections in most of the turbos they sell. The few Precision turbos we had issues with had Garrett center sections and they were turbos built last year so maybe there is something to this. I have not had a problem with Precisionâs ceramic ball bearing air cooled center sections. (Somedude you bought one with this new style)
If a problem develops with the Precision center sections weâll use something else. Until then weâll stick with what has been working.
Sent this to a friend I know that works at HTT so hopefully he can get back to me soon with some more inside information and truths about it all.
www.forcedinductions.com âŚthey have a few custom lines of turbos that are A+ quality. great customer service as well.
Theyâre just using parts from these other brands. Very few companies make center cartridges and wheels. There are a ton making turbine housings and assembling a turbo using a CHRA from Garrett, Precision, etc.
it was my understanding that they were using other housings, but making their own wheels. for example, my housings are the same found on borg warnerâs bullzeye line of turbos, but the wheels developed by forced inductions flowed significantly more efficient
