A sad story...

Yesterday a girl that I am seeing and I were out car shopping for a new car that she so desperately needs. Anyway, we are driving up the road and about 300 feet or so ahead we see this little dog go running across the road. Think nothing of it, not one sec. later it comes running back across only now there is a car. BAM. Car takes out the dogs rear end. I was swearing up and down, so I will not repeat my reaction but I was so angry at the situation. We pulled the car over and ran over to the dog. It was howling and trying to move but it couldn’t move its back end at all. Its legs were totally useless. There were three little girls who owned the dog. All teenagers, so they were histerical.

5 minutes later and now there are like 5 cars stopped blocking the road so the dog does not get hit again, and everyone is just standing there staring at the poor thing. So i’m like, “Are your parents home?” They said no. So I said go get a big blanket and come right back. The oldest came back with a big blanket and we wrapped up the dog. I picked it up and brought to the car. We drove to the vets as quickly as possible and they were waiting for us when we got there. The dog was now in shock and its breathing was very labored. We walked in just as the parents came running in the door. It doesn’t really hit you until you see the parents who are now crying and talking to the dog while your holding it. The vet doctor came out and they rushed the dog into the room. The family said thank you and we left.

Well we stopped at a restaurant to eat and when we were all finished up, the manager walked out and told us that our bill was all taken care of! I was like excuse me, but why? He said the people who’s dog we just rescued saw our car parked here and called in and payed our bill. We were like wow, ok. It just makes me happy to know that there are still people out there who will go out of there way to help people, and most importantly have the respect to say thank you. Not that we did it hoping for a free meal but it was nice of them. Ok im done/

props to you!

But that story makes me sad… damn you

Did you ever find out what happened to the dog?

this story make :sad :sad

but kudos to helping! what was the result with the dog?

its great to see that there as still a few decent people out there. karma is great lol

:sad

I’ve been seeing alot more of this lately for some reason, and I’m definitely not complaining, human compassion is an EXTREMELY powerful thing.

wow, im glad there are still good people out there!

No I haven’t checked to see what happened to the dog but we sent a thank you note to them for paying for the meal. Hopefully they will let us know…I don’t want to ask because it might be a bad answer…

least theres some still ppl out ther with some kinda of heart

wow dude, sad story, but what a great thing to do!! :thumb
thats crazy how they just happened to see your car and payed the bill for you! :wow

That story just forced me into alcoholism. Did the car that hit the dog stop or keep going?

It came back just as we were leaving. I don’t know what happened from there.

You my friend just made me smile :thumb ASPCA member here, and if I saw you do that I would have paid your dinner bill. As my wife would say, good karma will be heading your way.

^word^, Way to help out man, serious props for taking control of the situation like that.

Total sidenote, not stealing any thunder - I worked EMS for 1 year, and one call was a guy that fell off a ladder. He was in rough shape so we did our thing, lo and behold our next Sunday night was the biggest plate of cookies I have ever seen waiting for us. It wasn’t a big gesture, but it was the fact someone was saying “thanks” and thinking about the people who took care of them when they needed it. You’re gonna get +100000 karma.

what a coincidence of them seeing your car there, huh? sad about the dog tho

Theres not many people like yourself or them out there sadly.Much props for that.Hey id want someone to do that with my dog if i wasnt home.

Aww, great story. Sad about the dog, but as everyone else said, it’s nice to see people go out of their way to help others. :thumb
