Am thinking of making a go at doing a rim to rim grand canyon crossing. But it is around 45miles and 8,000ft elevation. Hmmm maybe I should see if I can even do another marathon first.
sweet, thanks for the info man. I’m sure I’ll be fine. I’m an experienced surfer, so I know the etiquette and stuff. I’m just worried about getting snaked by locals and ending up in a scuffle lol.
I have three (activity wise).
- heli ski AK
- ski in japan
- Baja 500
then I could die happy
Well… Just got this sucker to my house last night. Going to get together a little more gear, do some flat water work and practice the ins and outs of whitewater techniques… then hopefully hitting up some rapids.
Got a killer deal from a friend on this boat. 2013 Liquidlogic Remix xp9 and a Werner Carbon paddle. Pretty excited I must say.
Things I need and anyone with help on pricing, please suggest.
Helmet, Skirt, Life jacket. Those are the basics, anything else… pass me the word.
How long is that? It looks to be too long to be intended for white water use.
9ft, its a cross between the 2. Has all the features you need for white water and that’s exactly what the guy I bought it from does. He’s actually getting the same boat but the 2014. (I have no clue why) This thing is mint and he gave me a killer deal!
It has a spring loaded fin in the back. You twist the handle to drop it and if you forget, its built durable enough to take a beating from going through rapids and hitting things.
Most white water are 6’ish it’s going to take a lot more skill and expertise to get that through some serious stuff. Cheap lake kayaks are in the 9’ range.
I haven’t done this before… This is a learning experience and I also wanted one for flat water since I don’t live really anywhere close but Letchworth. So its a good all around for me. If I get serious, I’ll get a stubby. This can handle class 1-3 and some have done 4, but its all about the places you go around here.
I personally never realized the thigh pads and foot pegs that come with these. Either way, retail… its a $1300 Kayak and a $130 paddle… My buddy tossed me both for $400. NO COMPLAINTS HERE! lol
No complaints whatsoever lol. I would have grabbed that too. I like the retractable rudder.
I’d like to skydive some day
The first thing you need to learn is how to get in when there is no solid footing. As in go to a spot where you have to tread water and pull yourself up and in. A lot of people can’t do this.
Lol dick!
That’s what I’m saying. He said that he’s forgot before to put it up and that some others that have on other brands have snapped/broke the retractable rudder… but this one snaps back with ease and very durable. (me not having to replace something because of stupidity in retracting it… cool) lol
That is next! I’ve been wanting to do that and I’ve though of BASE jumping, which I know you have to skydive and x amount before attempting BASE

Will do. Luckily he said he’s looking to teach me and will let me know each time he goes. They are planning one more relaxing ride next weekend. I’m probably going to take him up on that offer being 30 or so minutes away. (not rapids at all)
I agree, I wouldnt take that thru anything serious.
I think you will come in last.
Not really looking to do anything over class 3 next year anyways seeing as I haven’t even gone though any proper training. lol

hmm… giving this some thought, there aren’t really specific things that come to mind. I just want to do exciting things all the time for work and with family.
definitely want to own and run a number of businesses and involve my brothers and friends in them in various capacity… like restaurants and other stuff.
want my kids to have travelled to a lot of cool places before they get out of school.
