adding tiptronic possible?

I’m shaky in knowledge when it comes to newer Auto transmissions so I’m not too sure if this will make too much sense.
I believe Auto transmissions now a days are conservatively controlled by a separate Auto ECU. If this is the case with this transmission then I don’t see it being a problem to have a piggyback MCU controlling when the ECU allows the tranny to switch gears. Try searching on google for something like “add on tiptronic”
The cost? Considering the complexity of something like this I wouldn’t think it’s too high BUT, the availability of a unit like this usually determines the price.
For example, I just put a Racelogic traction control unit in my car. I’ve sized it up as 4 ADCs (or one high sample rate/frequency ADC) getting the voltage from each of the four ABS sensors, 6 high power transistors to shut off each injector on demand and 1 Flash MCU with 6 outputs and 4 ADC inputs that you can program with your settings.
Cost of all the parts - Maybe $30CDN MAX
Cost of the unit - $1400GBP or $2850CDN

Wow, I went off on a rant. Anyway, unless someone corrects me about Auto transmissions I’m sure it’s available.

EDIT: Most MCUs now anyways have channeled ADCs so you can eliminate the cost of ADCs for that package… I don’t know why I mentioned that.
