Yeah, when my Expedition wouldn’t start the tow truck driver spent about 15 minutes trying to get it started instead of towing. Ended up under the truck jumping straight to the starter and it fired right up, at which point he let me know it wasn’t the starter, just corroded terminals on the starter. Definite tip for that guy because I probably would have ended up pulling the starter and getting it tested at a minimum. Instead I just removed the terminals, cleaned them up, and reinstalled with some dielectric grease.
The only other time I was towed was about 7 years ago when I snapped a ball joint autocrossing at ECC-S. The guy was real careful getting my poor Fiero (that was now basically an inch off the ground on on side) up on the flatbed then managed to drop it right into my garage. Definitely earned a tip there too.

I have used it a handfull of times. Once when my bike had some electrical problems.
I am pretty sure a lady on my street works for them and actually gets to boot members.
OT: If you need to be towed out of NYIRP do they give you a hard time?

nope once for me and once for a friend no problem. Depends on the tow company I guess
