Airmancam; 2006 Subaru STI

Over 3 years ago I met Josh at a traffic light in Queensbury when I had my STi, he pulled up next to me, swung his door open (couldn’t roll down the window, fresh tint), and asked if I was KillerBlackbird from IWSTI.com. Definitely took me by surprise lol.

For those 3 years we’ve kept saying we will meet up to shoot his STI, finally we did last week. Josh can go into details but for quick numbers the car makes over 500whp…which makes up for the lack of the “boxer rumble”, my favorite part of a Subaru.

I did two edits of this rig shot just because I couldn’t decide which one I liked better.

1,9,12 are soo sick

glad to see someone put a euro plate on one of these, i think it looks good but i kinda wish he didnt have any stickers it would be cleaner

While I’m not exactly sold on the kiddie playground background, and the very dark edited photos such as #9, 10 and 12 and the extreme low light close ups, the rest are superb.

#1, 3, 7, 8, 19, 20 are :number1

Theres that one effect I notice in A LOT of your images that I fucking love, and I will not lie… Ive been trying to figure out how to do it… and maybe tweak it for my own liking because I love it…

and I cannot figure it out :banghead

Anyways… I would choose first rig shot, seems like it has a bit more contrast to me and not as washed out

One thing I notice your very good at, is making the most abstract photos look good such as number 4, if there was not a single other photo in this and you just showed it to some shmoe on the street, they would have no fucking clue what it is but it would still look good

lol, Im not a fan of it either but it works. Not much in Warrensburg for locations lol.

Thanks. Its actually really easy if its that purple/violet hue you are referring to.

Im not crazy about the wheels being straight in number 6 but by the time they were turned in number 18 the sky/sun changed that quickly.

Easy car to push on flat ground … Not so easy up hill and much harder when being chased by a semi

Jim, this is one of my favorite sets of yours. It all just looks a little different from what we’ve gotten used to from you.

As for the two edits, I think the second one looks better. The first one seems to warm with all of the lighting in the photo.

I went back to a few dark edits for this set just to mix it up. Number 10 is my personal favorite, the blue glows nicely. A better location would’ve been ideal and I screwed up and missed interior and engine bay shots.

I agree with the first shot, I left the CP filter on facing the sun which kind of screwed me up plus the car is on the dark side in relation to having direct sunlight in the frame.

Let’s shoot the M3 this week before there’s an ugly hitch hanging off the back lol. I’ll even wash and quick detail the car! Hopefully the new lighting pieces get here soon.

Everything looks great, BUT it would of looked better with the wingless trunk. and 9 is my favorite.
