MPD, when do they release the route for 09?
My friend and I want to go, he’s got access to a newer 911 that we may use

Also, mpd, is ~$5000 a person sound about right for the trip? including gas,speeding tickets and entry fee?
I don’t know exactly when new info will be available. I’d GUESS by the end of the month there will be an announcement. I believe entry fees are going up slightly this year. (was $3500 last year IIRC).
Costs really depends on what you plan on spending. You CAN do this on a budget (budget depending on your definition). You’ll need to budget fuel to the starting point, fuel for the rally, fuel to get the car back (unless you ship it back, there are usually two or three priority transports through Intercity of FedEX Custom Critical that bring cars back for a discounted rate). Tickets, I’ve done the rally with NO tickets and I’ve done it with 9 before… some states are pay on the spot as well. Thankfully tickets out west are CHEAP (5 in one stop cost me $286 and was told not to return to the state for 12 months). Figure those + drinks and any personal expenses. Doable? Yes definitely, but you need to budget yourself based on your car, driving habits, codriver etc. The cheapest I ever did the rally (not including entry) was $590, the most expensive… considerably more. (5 total so far).
You should definitely try and go this year.
I can honestly see myself getting into a bit of trouble, especially if we are driving a P car… 
I’ve been wanting to do it every year since I was 17, now that I’m finally 21 and am allowed to enter, I think it maybe time to try it.
