GTi-R ITB’s + Boost = Teh Sex.
some random info off the top of my head to clear some misinformation :ninja
-top performing NA 4age engines are built by hasslegren for the old formula atlantic series. they are prety much too expensive (like $25k)for anyone to actually run in a street car (I believe Taka Aono ran one in his Formula D 86 last year) they generally make 240hp NA at 9500 rpm
-of course stock 86s dont handle great stock, theyre over 20 years old. but they ARE very well balanced, and were great performers in their day (50/50 weight balance, RWD, LSD, 4 wheel disc all stock)
-theres no way to make 240hp out of a stock block/head 4age unless its boosted. even then it wont last long
-blacktop 4ages (the last of the series sold in the AE101 chassis) came with ITBs stock and a 20 valve head with variable timing.
-agreed, these are not a cheap car to get into and mod. just buying a nice GTS can cost ALOT of money for the age of the car and nobody should be looking at them unless you understand going in you will lose money. Ive got over 5000 into mine including purchase, and its still sitting in the driveway (hopefully not for long now)
Yeah but if you drove a tofu delivery car maybe your racing god dad would be able to find a high-revving, race breed variation of the standard Toyota 4A-GE 20 valve twin cam engine, which was used for Group A Division 2 Touring Class races in the Japanese Touring Car Championship. :banana :banana
youre on your own… Japan DOES NOT TAKE LIGHTLY TO CRIME. you could spend a long time in jail if caught and convicted. you are joking, but been there, know someone who broke an antenna off a cab, the US Navy took responsibility and got him released… he got kicked out of the navy for it, but was looking at like 10 years in jail for that petit crime… no joke.
bump for an old thread?
dont itb’s ruin motors fast?
im not the one who dug this thread up. i usually dont post in any thread created by you. they are normally partially retarded
simple answer = no
complex answer = we can talk in person lol.
middle answer = how bout that 3rd gear roller?
i thought they just make ur throttle response as crisp as possible and ur MPG go WAY down
Id like to get one of these rwd Corollas or an older rwd Datsun/Nissan (not a Z though) and put a smallblock in it and make it a total sleeper.
a sbc in one of those old cars would make a sweet drift car, moar power than it needs and instant throttle response, the thing is I dont know how much body flex they have, they werent designed to have much power :lol I’d love to drop an rb26dett into a datsun 510, thats like my dream project. someday, I need to learn a hell of alot more to be able to do that to a car :lol
id be happy with a 180 and an sr20 in it
so would I :lol but this is just a super sweet dream project, and once I learn how to do 90% of the work myself I plan on doing it. Its just going to be a stock motor swapped into a 510. I think with some more knowledge, maybe a buddy or two, lots of $$$ to spend, and the tools required I could do it, but right now, definitly not, I’d have no idea how to wire everything in :lol
part of the reason why id want the sr20, its been done a lot of times, its a proven swap so its easy to find info about it
thats true, I’ve never come across on the internet about an rb26 swap. I wonder if its actually possible, I’d have to really research it, as of right now its just a dream :lol
its possible. talk to john williams if u can find him. hes got a friend with as 240 with a rb26 in that and hes done em before.
240 with rb26 is way different than a 70’s datsun 510
IM me, i can prolly find one of those for you later on.
I gotta dl AIM on this comp still :lol I rarely use it, I’ll get it then send you a message.
It has been done, but apparently major fab is involved
Not an RB26, but an RB series in a 510
