Aluminum Radiator cores?

I am having trouble finding a simple aluminum radiator core supplier. What I am looking to do is get just the core and make my own end tanks to fit the jetta. I also want to use the bottom few rows for an oil cooler bank as well.

Anyone have any connections?

I think griffin sells cores.

Could you get me a price maybe on a core about 20" wide 18" tall if you can get griffin stuff?

www.wizardcooling.com

somewhere in NY, they make custom radiators. I sent them an e-mail to see what they have.

If anything I might just get a cheap 100$ special and cut the tanks off and make it work how I need it to.

www.circletracksupply.com sells a nice unit for $265. Dual pass in/out on one side and oil cooler on the other. But I can make that same thing for $50 in aluminum sheet, some AN bungs and time. and it will fit my car perfectly how I see fit too.

I’m not set up to carry it but I looked at getting a core from them for a custom radiator application not to long ago

cbrd speed factory, they made radiators for buschur, see if they will sell you a core.

Yea for buschur BRO

mishimoto makes radiators for mk4s now.

yeah but they dont or at least didnt fit very well, ask yetti’s dremel too! Not that I have that problem with my aluminum “core support”, but I am not looking for an off the shelf solution. There are some $185 specials in the size I want that I would have to cut the tanks off that could work though.

Wizard got back to me, they said $165 or so for a core in the size I was looking for. that would work, ok. I was hoping to find one around $100 or so, but what ever works I guess.

Get a radiator for an automatic trans application and use the trans cooler for oil instead… I know these things will take some serious pressure. It will also help heat up the oil on cold starts. I understand you are looking to build your own for reasons I am not aware.

I thought about that too. I dont think the coolant radiator would like 80+ psi inside it… not to mention oil is alot thicker than coolant.

Balls, I might be ditching this idea. lol

I had one of the B&M oil coolers, the stacked plate design. Very durable, I could literally stand on it. With the engine hot you can touch the outlet side line and it was nearly ambient temp. Inlet you wouldn’t want to touch. It may have worked too good.

If you want an oil cooler, just call us. We have accounts for Setrab and Mocal, as well as all the related plates and full flow an fittings for it.

i have a mocal for a VW 4cylinder. brand new. 16row i believe. bargain pricing.

The only reason I wanted an all in one solution is for the cleanliness factor. Compact, one unit solution.

I am talking to the Wizard Cooling guys here in NY who make custom radiators for hot rods and race cars. I found them because they made a custom solution for the 954’s or some P-Car chassis with a built in oilcooler that fit the oem shroud like woah.

Ill see what they say about the pressure capabilities for the radiator and go from there. Stay tuned.
