Americans Driving Less

i used to put $15 a time into my honda, now i put in $20 at a time. this really hasnt been a big deal for me

i take the bike more than my car… but i drive around more on the bike than if i drove my car so i guess its a trade off

Ya my vehicle fills up on $12. I get about 2 weeks

I hate driving my grocery-getter

I see people doing this and always wanted to ask why. You’re using the same amount if you fill up multiple times with small dollar amounts or once and actually fill the car. But by filling it you spend less time getting gas and less time driving out of your way to get gas.

Although technically you’re carrying less weight so improving your MPG…

A gallon of gas is 6 lbs. A new Accord has a 17.1 gallon tank, so even if you never fill it above half you’re only saving 51 pounds. How much difference can that really make?

I’m sure the older Accord Jam has came with a smaller tank besides.

IF you are only puttin in $20 at at time, I would imagine gas prices are a big deal to you. I mean if you are there, and your pockets aren’t hurting from the prices, wouldn’t you just fill it?
